Think C5 Seats Lack Head/Neck Comfort?
Just wanted to throw this out there if any of you are dealing with the same discomfort I was experiencing. I don't have a problem with the *** and spine portion of the stock seats, but I always felt like the head area was too far back. In other words, there was too much space/gap between my head and seat. I wanted something to fill that gap so I came across these on Amazon. I've been driving with it for a week now and it has definitely made seating more comfortable. If you have black seats, they won't look too tacky either. If you're looking for an easy fix on the cheap, I recommend. (no affiliation with seller, not an affiliate link either)

My seats are in pretty good shape but lack most everything. Probably good in the "day". I would love to replace but (especially with electric) it's a $$ proposition. I have not been on a long test drive yet as Colorado weather seems to be undetermined if it's spring or winter. Even my Toyota seats "sit" better and the head rests tilt forward so if you wanted, you could actually rest your head and not look at the roof. Hope that works for ya. It would not look to hot on light Oak...

Unless you're in the passenger seat relaxing / sleeping or in a rear end collision, your head should not be in contact with the seat. IMO As a former motorcyclist and advid driver, those who use the headrest while driving scare me. They are often as bad as those who are texting.
With that said, it is better to have the "head rest" closer to your head to reduce the potential for whiplash.

Looks similar to a product that was sold here on the forum by some vendors a number of years ago. I really don't have the same problem you have, but if it works for you, that's great. It certainly is an inexpensive product.

The C5 seats are the worst seats I have had in any car. They are total crap. I'd put C4 seats in if I could.
In other news they can be made better... if you haven't done the seat foam update then at least do that. It won't fix the head rest issue but will certainly bolster the bottom to make them better.

Let me just add, this lack of head rest support has been a major pet peeve of mine. I actually bought a set of those Head Rest Pads made by that Division of Mid America that everyone resells, and while they help a little bit, the problem is, if you are over the height of a midget, the pad begins to hit you at shoulder level, so it really doesn't help the neck angle much.
The only way I was able to get these to work 1/2 way decent was to open the velco in the back, and fold the foam from the bottom toward the top so it overlapped. The problem now is they look kind of goofy.
The old Tbone ones might have worked better but it doesn't seem any way to source those anymore.

My C5 with original seats is the most comfortable car I've ever driven on long road trips. I have disc issues in my lower back and the recline position and lumbar support are very helpful.

The C4 seats had lumbar support as well and it didn't feel like I was going to slide out of them in every corner. My Wife's G37 has way better seats. Heck... my daily driver Chevy Volt has way better seats that don't have me sliding all over.

I suggest you either put some Velcro on your butt or sell the damn thing!!

Head restraint vs articulating head rest
I suggest everyone think this one seriously thru. It is more important to ask if the head restraint complies to the auto industry standards period. I believe the requirement is 4 inches from the rear of the head to the front of the head restraint. I know there is definitely more than that in my C7 when I am in the driving position. My BMW has an articulating HEAD REST which is moveable for better protection. It is my opinion there is a vast difference in driver protection in a rear end collision between a head restraint and an articulating head rest. Its a long story for me which I unfortunately learned the hard way. I was rear ended when stopped and the rest of my life is different than I had planned.
