Update: Truck is unloaded (despite the non-stop rain) I should have the office setup and running by Friday and begin processing orders again.

My father is currently in the VA hospital downtown. Those of you who have dealt with the VA know it's difficult to get a straight or consistent answer from anyone. I will be visiting him today to see what's actually going on.

Update:

My father's trial-treatment of Immunotherapy was deemed not effective enough to continue (the tumors are not getting any smaller) and due to a hospital admin paperwork screw-up, he will be getting chemotherapy through the VA hospital in downtown Houston until we can get his Medicare B reactivated and supplemental insurance. I will be providing as much assistance as I can throughout this process so again email responses and order processing will be going slower than normal.

On the divorce issue, I will be flying up to Michigan for a court hearing on custody of my daughter between Aug 31 and Sept 2. Please note that I will not be answering phone calls during this time due to the hectic schedule.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

I want to add my best wishes as well to you, George. One day at a time and one step at a time is about the only way to approach things, especially when there are multiple, simultaneous, issues.
This is pretty tough stuff, don't let them get the best of you. A special prayer for your Dad.

I would like to agree, however with my STBX living with my vindictive mother-in-law it's unlikely to end pretty. My hope is to get my daughter out of that fire until my ex moves out, gets a job and starts thinking about what is REALLY best for our daughter.

Update: My father's condition has deteriorated substantially. The VA hospital refusing to give him "choice" (private care funded by the VA which MANY veterans have) and still after months we are still waiting to get treatment from the VA oncologist. As of this afternoon, my father is in the hospital again. Doctors say he is in early stages of heart failure and believe his liver is affected as well. A PET scan last week revealed spreading of cancer to the bones in his hips and thoracic region.....and still the VA hospital does nothing.

I will continue to process orders and answer questions as soon as possible, but If I do not answer in my characteristically rapid fashion, please know that I am most likely at or going to/from the hospital.

I am immensely grateful for the time I have gotten to spend with my dad especially in the past few days. I find some comfort and amusement in the fact that He used to be the one doing all the driving, and now I'm the one driving him everywhere.

Update on my father:
My father's condition has worsened and due to the degree of pain he is in, as of Tuesday night he was transferred from the hospital to hospice care in a transition facility where they will modify his medication to address his increasing level of pain due to cancer growth and metastasis to the surrounding bones. The hospital is legally obligated to maintain life and body function over pain management and given his current condition we decided as a family that hospice care was the best option for him. As of this afternoon when I visited him, my father reports being in substantially less pain and along with my mother is beginning to come to terms with the situation. I am relieved to see my father is no longer suffering to the degree he has been for many weeks. I am handling the paperwork and future planning side as much as possible to give my parents as much time together as I can. This has been extremely difficult for them both especially considering the lack of medical support and treatment they have been getting from the VA hospital.

In light of these circumstances, Radioflyer Innovations will be temporarily ceasing production/shipping operations for the next few days until I know if my father will be able to come home. I will continue to answer emails as time permits.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have an order with us that is still pending, rest assured it WILL be processed.
