My Dad was a great story teller. He used to tell stories about all the things that had happened to him in his life time. I never thought of it untill after he passed away but wish many times over that I had sat down with him and a video recorder and just let him talk and retell the stories.

My sympathies. I lost my father to cancer 4 years ago. The end was peaceful and that was a huge blessing. Spend every second you can with your father, you will be happy you did.

Update:
I'm afraid things are deteriorating rapidly and it is unlikely my father will be coming home. Hospice care has urged me to begin making plans for after my father's passing. I will be taking up the responsibility for making funeral arrangements over the next few days. I will try to get email responses as soon as possible, but I will not be taking phone calls at this time.
If you know of anyone who is trying to reach me, please forward them to this post so they understand the reasoning my lack of communication.

My father passed this morning in my mother's arms surrounded by pictures of family. He is at last in no more pain.

Sorry for the loss of your father, he is pain free. Although I dont look forward to death I do look forward to being with all those I have lost on the other side, what a party.
