Thanks a lot! And I don't blame you, I really like the Nassau blue . I saw a thread on your car when you first bought it, it looked like a good deal!!

The car really is a whole new animal now with the new set up

An old Jewish friend of mine once told me, about 50 years ago, that the worth of any object is placed by the person willing to buy it, not the person willing to sell it.

I hear people all the time saying that their house is worth 800,000 dollars... its not worth 800,000 dollars unless someone is willing to buy it , right now, for 800,000 dollars.

Take a diamond ring. you bought it for 50K... you want to sell it... what is it worth??? what ever someone is willing to pay for it... today. take that 50K ring to a broker, and if he is willing to give you 10K for it, then today it is worth 10K unless someone else offers more.

So to answer your question.. its worth what ever the best offer would be. you could ask 10K or 20 K, it doesn't mean anything ... it might be worth 20K to you, but only you.

Anyone who puts a value on your car here would only be valid if they were willing to actually give you that amount of money, right now. Take it to a used car lot.. see what they will give you for it " Today " cash in your hand.. and that's what it is worth today.

Put it in the newspaper or on line... if you get no offers, its worth nothing to anyone looking for a car like yours... If someone says they will give you 50 grand for it, Today then its worth 50 grand.

So any value placed here is worthless

Good question. The only ones I've seen for this amount were not worth owning. By the time you buy a cheap C5 and bring it up to par, you've spent as much, or likely more, than you would have on a clean car at the beginning. Usually being cheap in the beginning will have you feeling poor in the long run, especially when it comes to used cars of this age.

The frustrating part is people try to act like all of them should be the same price as the cheapest one they can find listed online.

@f6john -

Depending on whether you're just looking for 01-04 models, you should probably expand your search to Bowling Green and Nashville and maybe Memphis. Don't be put off by having to drive a little. I just did a quick search for you......... lots out there in your price range

You get the idea.... unfortunately, this is spring time, weather is warming up and demand for Corvettes go up in the spring so you'll pay a little more now. But the deals are out there depending on what you want. Good luck.

Ditto. A pristine C5 to can be had for 16+.. I drive mine like a rental. These cars are meant to be hammered. From the the mod list it appears you like to do the same as well.

OP you can always list your car for sale for what you want. It only takes one buyer to make it work.

To others there are good buys out there you just have to find the one that is right for you. For those complaining that there are no good deals out there you should try selling a car and then you will fully understand how soft the market is for high mileage sports cars that are over a decade old.

I agree the market for these cars is non existent. Very sad as they need loving owners. I tell people all the time that they could easily afford a drive-able Corvette.

I will admit it takes a special owner to want to deal with issues that will come up on older cars. You have to hunt for and find parts that are no longer made. You will need to have a passion for it or you might end up hating your vehicle.

These would be perfect cars for younger people who do their own work on cars.

Affordable C5's are the perfect gateway Corvette to introduce everyone to the intoxicating growl of a V8 powered sports car. Corvette's are not just for retired old guys! Somehow the stereotype keeps people away.

Think it depends on the area also, here in the southwest used cars are priced like gold....last fall when I was shopping a decent C5 coupe under 100k miles was about 14K.
