What replacement rotors and pads to buy??
The problem with the internet is too many choices.
Simply I have a warped stock rotor(s), I want to replace the rotors and pads with a stock or equivalent aftermarket items. I would like lower dust pads (Champagne painted 5 spoke alloy wheels).
I am not hard on the brakes and plan on selling the 50th anniversary SE c5 in the future.
What brands would you buy and from what vendor??
gmdirect wants $525 + shipping for 4 rotors and 4 sets of pads.
Thanks for the opinions

You can get performance drilled and slotted rotors and ceramic pads for a fraction of that estimate here: http://www.primechoiceautoparts.com/

You can buy replacement rotors for your C5 from NAPA for around 50 dollars each.
I wont comment on low dusting pads....

These have gotten great reviews by other members on the Forum. When it comes time to replace my stock rotors/pads, it's what I'm going with.

I've been getting Centric rotors from Tire Rack. $178 for the 120 series. They also carry Hawk (I use HPS), Akebono, Centric and Stop Tech pads for C5 Corvettes. The Centric rotors have the directional vanes for proper cooling.

I'm on the same boat with the brakes situation but unsure what get.
Here's another listing that sounds pretty interesting but no reviews.

The NAPA or Brake Motive rotors seem to get good reviews here. I used a set of Hawk HPS pads on mine and was pleased with their performance.

If you want a quality aftermarket pad take a look at the Carbotech 1521 pad. Low dust stops like OEM if not better and last longer. 100% non-corrosive dust will not harm your paint or wheels.
If interested let me know I will be happy to help you. http://ampdautosport.com/brake-pads/corvette/
Carbotech™ Bobcat 1521™ The Carbotech Bobcat 1521™ is our high performance street compound that is our most successful compound. The Bobcat compound is known for its awesome release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. Like our AX™ & XP™ line of compounds, Bobcat 1521™ is a Ceramic based friction material offering minimal rotor damage and non-corrosive dust. Bobcat 1521™ offers outstanding performance, even when cold, low dusting and low noise with an excellent initial bite. This compound’s virtually perfect linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Bobcat 1521™ operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 900°F. Bobcat 1521™ is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle, police cruiser. The Bobcat 1521™ compound has been found to last two-three times longer than OE pads you can purchase at a dealership or national retailer. That’s one of the beauties of Carbotech Ceramic brake compounds. Bobcat 1521™ is NOT recommended for any track use.

As far as rotors just get some Centric premium rotors plain face they are like $45.00 a piece and are perfect for what you are trying to accomplish.

I will be going with Centric rotors in the near future. I'll probably stick with OEM pads though. I don't mind the dusting as my rims are relatively easy to clean.

Hawk HPS pads are a noticeable upgrade for most road cars. I put a set on the C5 many years ago, along with Baer rotors, but Baer stuff is expensive (I got mine used, but almost new). I've installed HPS pads since on multiple vehicles and never had an issue - and they are not dust generators. I would unreservedly recommend them.

I got the brakemotive last year after reading good reviews. They feel like the factory brakes but look better. They made it through the winter and still look good and work good. Got rid of an annoying squeal from right front.

I run centric (Stop Tech) cryo-treated slotted rotors

And Hawk Blue pads:

No gripes about the performance but they are a bit dusty up front...

Would you go with the "ultra premium" rotors over the "premium" ?

I have read you recommend semi-metallic over ceramic pads.
I'm not looking for an upgrade. The factory brakes are plenty good enough for my driving style.

I flat wore out the rotors and pads on my 02 ZO6. I went with the NAPA premium rotors and stock GM pads and cant complain ONE BIT! Excellent replacement parts!
IF YOU ARE MILITARY/EX MILITARY, YOU GET A 10% DISCOUNT AT NAPA!!
If you can find SLOTTED rotors, I would go with them. Sometimes the drilled rotors CRACK between the holes!
