Default How robust is F55?

I'm about to pick up a 2003 anniversary vert', red/shale, F55. Obiviously
I can't choose the shocks so I'm wondering what might be the service
life of these expensive parts. Car has 60k miles and has been well taken care of. Does mileage seem to dictate their life expectancy or are these 13 year old parts bound to fail soon?

Any one that has a Tech2 can delete the RPO for the shocks and then you can change them.
To any conventional shock you prefer

Age and Miles have a profound impact, and you better be sitting when you get a quote for the replacement magnetic selective ride shocks. I think the cheapest I read was someone got a set for $1,800, and some folks paying as much as $2,500 to $3K, or even much more! It's so ridiculous that most people look to swap to the Z06 shocks and eliminate the F55 either by using similators or having it programmed out.

There are a ton of threads here with more details about this.

Good luck man.

If I remember right the simulators only work with the F45 shocks

Thank you, this is good to know. The car rides fine now, much better than my C7 with mag/ride. As long as I have a choice in the future, I guess there isn't a problem. Are people here finding the F55 shocks failing on a regular basis?

I went with the C6Z06 shocks and C6Z51 sway bar option from Gene and Patrick at cultragfactoryparts.com on my 02 vert.
