C5 plugs and wires recommendation please
I have 50k miles on my 2000 C5 and would like to do plugs and wires. I was going to use AC delco 41-110 iridium tip plugs and the GM wires part 12495519. I now have seen some bad reviews of this wire set (including Froggy video's) which sell at around $70. I don't want to break the bank but am willing to pay a little more to get better quality. Any recommendation appreciated. PS anyone have experience with MSD Super Conductor 8.5mm selling at $90?

On my '00 that I had, I went with the AC Delco Iridium plugs and GMPP red wires. Was very pleased with the performance.

Just did new plugs and wires in mine. Im running NGK TR5 V-POWER plugs, $3.99 each from Summit and ACCEL 8mm plug wires with 135 deg CERAMIC boots $98.99. With the ceramic boots they wont get as hot and wont hold moisture like a woven heat boot and are rigid so really have no chance of hitting the headers and burning or drying out the rubber on the wires and the TR5's have a slightly deeper reach into the cylinder and I dont need a $9.00 iridium plug bc im not going to be leaving the plug in for 100k miles. This set up in my opinion is well worth it.

I recently watched the 2003 GM Corvette customer VCR video on YouTube. During the maintenance portion of the video, GM recommends that the plugs be replaced at 100,000 or 5 years, which ever comes first. Interesting because a couple of GM Certified Techs that I know say the plugs don't need to be replaced until 100,000 miles and never mentioned a time frame.

The plugs may last 100k, but there is a video by a dude named froggy changing his wires and plugs at 55k and some of the boots were trash.

Problem is that after 100k miles, plugs might get a little... seized in. Leading to occasional broken plugs.
If you have the time, backing the plugs out and putting them back in every xx thousand miles might make sense. Of course, while you're already doing that, it'd only cost a few bucks to replace them...

I have the MSD 8.5 with NGK plugs and I am very happy with them. It is worth noting that if you have headers (or plan to install them in the future) MSD cables have bendable boots, so you can actually bend them away from your headers as needed. I burned through one of the wires even with a heat shield on it, before I was told about MSD being designed to bend exactly for that reason. No issues since.
I bought both plugs and wires from Hinson Motorsports, who are a supporting vendor on here. Very good pricing and service second to none.

oil pressure sensor went last year on my 98. Since I didn't know when the plugs were ever replaced, the wires looked original. While doing the work I replaced both the plugs and wires. Will never have to replace them again

You guys who think plugs will last for 100K should take a look at the plugs I removed with less than 50K. Wires were also hard to get off and come apart. I posted the pic's if you haven't taken a look at them then maybe you should.

Me too. Plugs are gapped at .040, the old plugs were .060+. They also were NGK. Does GM use them as OEM? 2 of the wires pulled off in our hands without any pressure, the old boots would not release, and in general nothing could be reused
I also replaced the oil pressure sending unit (OPSU), which was a bear.

In the video I saw, he used one of these tools to get the boots off...
