I've been searching for another low mile C5 since March. Every one I've seen with low mileage is commanding top dollar. I looked at 2 over this past weekend. One with 7K and the other with 12k on the clock. Each were in the $26K range. Might be nice to buy and own, but after a few years when the clock reads 65k the depreciation is huge.

I'm convinced the 05 auto is the worst corvette in the past 3 decades. Not because it's physically worse than others, but because there is no actual benefit to buying it over a c5. The only reason to buy is if you like the c6 body more than the c5. Even with the added power, the 4l60 makes the car vastly underwhelming in stock form.

Losing 6-8k to depreciation in several years and 60k miles is huge? Hope you never buy a new car.

That's like the first weekend of depreciation on a new car

Way too much money for a vehicle that is now 12 years old at it's newest

I'll stick with my 2002 C5 because it's the last one with flip up headlights and I personalized it. I bought it 6 yrs old with 20k for $24000. Now with 86k miles it's still worth $15-$20K and still can win trophies.

This is the exact kind of mindset that this thread is about.

True, they are much older so much be worth much less

Why are you even researching C5s if you think they are over priced? For $13-20k, what else can you buy that comes close to the performance offered by a C5? There is a reason they've bottomed out at their current prices for the last several years, and it's called value.

What do you think they're worth if you consider them over priced at their current market value? Just curious.

I have not seen any base C5 coupes selling for close to equal what a comfortably equipped C6 2008 up would cost. However, if you are talking about a C6 Coupe and a low mileage C5 Z06 then yes, the prices are much closer and comparable.

Could not have said it better. I have not seen any C6 Grand sports for C5 money and a C6 in my opinion looks too much like a C5 with fixed headlamps.

A seller can ask whatever he/she wants, but the actual price is determined by the buyer.

I think a lot of people list way high knowing that they will get knocked down in negotiations, but secretly hoping to land a whale that pays full price.

One would hope the C5 would be an improvement over the C4, but with all of the column lock issues, rear diff leaks, and piston slap issues.............one would have to wonder

BTW..................how's that climate control readout

What does it matter to a c4 owner of my climate control readout is dim, I'm 2 minutes ahead around the track, they couldn't read it anyways.

Please let me know if my DRL's are on when I'm coming up to lap you though, I just did the drl delete but I'm not sure I pulled the right fuse.

By the time you get your column unlocked the race will be over

Now let's get back on topic
