Default Difficulty in finding tires in Z06 sizes?

I went to a performance tire store and nothing is available except for Goodyear runflats. Checked Tirerack too, same thing. I'm running 265/40/17 on a 17 X 9.5 and 295/35/18 on a 18 X 10.5. What are you guys with these tire sizes doing/using? I could go back to stock coupe sizes but the tires would be stretched, correct? There's a lot of choices in this size. New wheels weren't in the budget but...thanks for any helpful info.

265/40's are a little harder to find. Im sure you can run some Nitto Invos or NT05's.

Same issue. Tire rack was no help. Eagles only. My local Discount Tire however did quote me Bridgestone, Conti (which I have now) and Michelin.... I have 295 and 275 and did not order yet (next week) so hard to verify but that's what I was quoted..

I run Conti ExtremeContact DW's on my '04. 255/40-R17 and 295/35-R18. I would assume they're still in production, but who knows?

Are these tires only "R" speed rated, or "ZR" speed rates. There's a huge difference in the two.

The fronts have a lower speed rating than the rears, possibly in the 150mph range? I'll never take the car to its limits though, so I'm not worried about it. YMMV.

No problem Tim. I run the Conti's now (same as Torch) and may grab them again but I'll need to see my choices. The Conti is a great tire or at least have been for me. The Conti and Bridgestones were under a grand. I think the Michelins were more like 1200+. The pickings are slim.

I have Conti DW's as well on my 00' coupe with Z06 replica wheels. The rears are 295 wide and the fronts are 275 wide, Conti doesn't make DWs in 265 width for the front. I have no problems with active handling/traction control and the tire are AWESOME compared to anything else I've put on the car. I say for the price, quality, and availability get the Conti's and don't look back!

I can't believe you can't find a 295.....

I just waited a month for a 335/30/18 since BFG doesn't make KDW's anymore I ended up with their new Rival S Extreme Performance Summer Tire which is just barely above a track/autocross tire.....I could have went TOYO R888 but I didn't want a 100 treadwear and I was worried about rain.....my other options were stupid expensive like the Pirelli Corsa series where you pay $400 for the right tire and $768 for the left....F that.

why are you running a 40 up front? why not go to a 35? as stated you could probably go INVO....I have them on my 07Z.....345's in back and 275's up front....the 265's do seem to be harder to find

I installed A set of Toyo Proxes T1 Super Sport yesterday. I only have about 20 miles on them but they seem to be a good fit so far. The road noise is much lower than the BFG tires I took of. My local dealer had the rear tires in stock and had the fronts delivered in 24 hours.
Too early to give a full review but I had no problems getting them.

I just installed a set of Bridgestone Potenzas (spelling?) in stock sizes. 265/17/40 in front, 295/18/35 rear. Non run flats. I have only put 300 miles on them but they are much better than what was on there.

I just put Continental DW's on and have only driven about 100 miles thus far and they seem much better than Goodyear spec tire. I ran 275 up front instead of 255 as many have done. 295 in the rear. No Active Handling issues yet. Driving to Chico and back tomorrow (450 miles). Will know more then, can hardly wait.

I did initially ask them about the Bridgestone Potenzas, but the rears were on back order. I'll look into the Conti's in 275 for the fronts. Thanks fellas!

Discount is doing some research and I hope to order tomorrow (Monday). I'll look at what is available and go from there. They search nationwide for inventory. Last time Michelin's were back ordered so I went Conti and was very pleased. I know they are not Nitto's or some drag radial but I'm not Andretti either. I need to be able to be fine performance wise in wet (hope not but you never know) or definitely at <40 degrees....

Be careful of those "almost" drag radials. We were on a fun run and one guy decided to go home when an unexpected sprinkle showed up.
The 275 fronts [I]just squeak by for the stagger. I never had a problem when they were on my Z.

And those sprinkles happen here in Colorado on mountain runs up to Estes Park etc. I will go with Potenza, Conti or Michelins. If I had to bet, I'll order Conti's tomorrow unless off the radar or a sale etc. pops up. Kills me to trash GY Eagle F1's with the nubs still on the sidewall but I think the dates are 06 and 07... Too dang old..
