Default Digital read out on AC is dim then bright

Alternates from super dim to bright. Anyone had this before? Thanks.

Does it change with the temp outside?
Search the Forum with dim/dark

You're the first.
Do a search (usually Google is best) using C5 Corvette forum and dim display. It's about a 3 hour job IIRC.
It's loose resistors...

A lot of info here on the subject
If it's the HVAC Unit your refering to probably needs soldering
Look up youtube on the subject as well

If all he is doing is soldering the resisters, then it's a 30 minute job including clean up. Mine took a few hours because I replaced all the bulbs at the same time

Found the thread - don't let the write up overwhelm you. It's a very simple fix especially if you have soldered before

Its was a while back for me, I did it piecemeal, and I included re/re of the console being a first timer. I may still be off.

How simple of a fix is it if I have never soldered before?

no big deal. Buy a low temp little solder iron at Lowes. Get a helper to hold the resisters with a tooth pic or a pencil or they will move around when you touch the iron to them. I tried to do by myself and finally ended up calling the wife down the work bench to hold them while I soldered.

It's not a hard job, but my recommendation is to find a friend with at least some soldering experience. You don't want to overheat or you can damage the resistors or the printed circuit. You just want to retack the loose connections on the resistors shown in the thread linked by Chiliwack
Vettes above.

I fixed mine without soldering. Several forum members didn't think much of my fix, but it was easy, it works and does not risk damaging the circuit board trying to solder.
