Our First Vette Trip (Video)
Recently took the first trip in the vette. Massillon, OH to the Gatlinburg, TN area, then to Bowling Green KY. Had a awesome time with no issues. 1675 miles.
Short story long. Purchased my 99', bone stock, 15k miles, clean as a whistle vert last year. From many hours reading on this forum, I knew I had my work cut out for me to make her road trip worthy.
All with the help from the forum, I did the following: LMC5 was first thing. Changed ALL the fluids and belts. Over the winter got some goodies and installed them this spring. Corsa Extreme Cat Back, C6z51 sway bars and links, C6z shocks, and Blackwing. Replaced the run-flats with BFGoodrich G-FORCE COMP-2 A/S, and TPMS (Schraders). The only thing I missed was the "driver Mod", as you can see from the Motorsports Park vid.
Here is a couple videos I made to show some family members. I edited them a little bit to share with you all. I had no intention of making these. Video is from my $70 dash cam and pictures with my Galaxy S6. They are in HD but the quality is not top notch. We had great sunny weather the whole trip, except drive down, that caused some sun glare. Not complaining!
Warning: No high speed scenes, just some nice scenic views.
First video is from the Gatlinburg area. The last 5 minutes is on the "Tail Of The Dragon". So watch a little bit if you want to check out the road, then stop the video if you get bored. There is no speeding or reckless driving.
Second video contains a National Corvette Museum picture slideshow, and the Motorsports track. If you have not been to the Museum you may enjoy the slideshow. At the Motorsports Park we did the "Touring Laps" in our car. Was my first time driving on a road course. Was not prepared but still had a blast. It is a "must do" if you are visiting the Museum and have the time. About the 10 minute mark is a short clip of the ride along "Hot Laps" we did. One of the most exciting things I have ever done. It is $100, but worth every penny.
Seeing all the fun some had at the Brickyard reminded me of my experience there. Richard Petty Driving Experience. If you are a Nascar fan it is one for the bucket list.

Great vid... thanks for sharing... I put a large black bath towel folded in half length wise to keep the dash from getting so freakin hot, and it stops that annoying glare on the windshield...

I will get other video up tonight. It's actually my favorite. Especially if you have not been to Museum.

Look forward to watching it...our car is a vert also... and i have to lay my phone on the towel when the top is down doing over 65 mph but it sure works nice...we leave it off in the morning and evenings if the sun isn't an issue...

Thanks for sharing the video of your recent trip. My wife and I went to Gatlinburg last fall and had a great trip. We didn't make it to the tail of the dragon, but it is on my list for the future.

Thanks for watching, and glad you enjoyed video. I believe the video for the Museum and Motorsports Park is working now. Had to change a song for copyright reasons.
