C5 seat belt replacement
I have a C5 convertible and the drivers side seatbelt hangs up. Will not pull out 20% of the time. I bought a new seatbelt to replace it but now I'm not sure how to remove the plastic cover covering the seatbelt unit. Is this held in place with clips? If anyone has done this before I would really appreciate a step by step proceedure. I don't want to break anything. Thanks...

Pull up gently on the plastic door jamb cover that runs alongside the seat. There are three clips - two on the top flat part and one up by the hood release. Remove this piece and set aside. Now work on the vertical B pillar/seatbelt reel cover. There are two clips here as well, you want to pull straight in toward the center of the car until the clips release and then snake the seatbelt out through the slots. The reels and top loop are held in by large torx bolts.
