Default How often you you Flex your Muscle

Now i am no Speed Ball any more...but I will get into it from time to time...coming home today in the vert I was getting on the merge ramp and some Ford 4 door something sedan which he thought was Fast jumped right on my butt...so close I could not see his head lights...you know one of those guys...so now my Vette is in Great shape and well maintained ...so I put it to the Floor...She hooked up like it was built for...and by the time I hit the interstate I was clocking over 100mph....looking in my rear view i saw the Ford (want to be fast car)... getting smaller and smaller and further away....Made me smile...so once I got settled down at a normal cruise speed...he caught up to me...came around the driver side of the vette and rolled down the window...he shouted what did I do to make the vette so fast...I shouted back to him i floored it....it's Stock....He said no F....ing way...I did not realize Vettes were that Quick...give me a and went on....Yeah I don't always flex my Muscle....but when I do....

I do every time I drive it, I didn't put in a 383 and sc to wax it but always in a safe place, just to get up to speed limit (or there a bouts)

Nothing better than pulling away on a new Mustang or Camaro that thinks they are going to blow away a stock vert Vette. I always back off and let them pass after I've got them, they always give a , the only car that hasn't given a so far was a c6z.

I flexed mine last wednesday, all I have to show for it is a ticket for 95 in a 55. What a stupid move on my part. You just never know when there's going to be a cop coming over the hill the other way. Mike

My racing days are long behind me, but I still enjoy performance cars and some "spirited" driving from time to time. Always fun to tromp on the go pedal, it never gets old! Best wishes and have a good one!

A good radar detector would have paid for itself already, I'm not saying 95 in a 55 is safe or advisable but they work very well from quite a distance

I never drive the Vette without it turned on and has never failed to go off in plenty of time for me not do something dumb like super fast acceleration.

When you've got over 800 on tap at the tires, you tend to be very judicial about when you flex it.

Mostly I'm a slow poke. I have a vette so I have nothing to prove!

But I get it on sometimes in safe straightaway situations. It IS amazing that most of the sports sedans and pony car drivers out there have no idea how crazy fast these vettes are

I'll get on mine when I know I'm in a safe location to do so - any traffic around and I play it safe. No sense getting into a situation where a ticket or an accident with others is a possibility.

40 over? That had to hurt. I think in Wisconsin they'd pull your license for awhile. I have noticed they are getting pretty sneaky with the unmarked cop cars. Family sedans and SUVs.

I was baited once by a unmarked, blacked out mustang, luckily I didn't go for it because my car was not built (mustang looked too fast) and I didn't have a detector yet, (although it would not have helped me if I took off). He pulled up next to me kinda quickly and stayed there a mile or so until he turned his lights on and pulled into a parking lot behind a regular marked cop car. There was no sign this was a cop! I was very lucky, I must have been living right that night, it was a close call.

If I had my supercharger then, I'm afraid I would have atleast got a ticked for taking off fast .....not sure what that's called but I know you can get a ticket for it.

Ya never really know!

Be careful out there

I was caught last fall at 60 over the limit and the cop let me go. I was driving the wifes Mustang.

I try to do the speed limit most of the time ever since I had to pay a hefty $210 speeding ticket which I couldn't complain about since I was doing 23 mph over. I mainly get Mustangs and Challengers that try to play. Thursday I was driving home, crusing about 40 mph with minor traffic. I look in my review and I see this Challenger driving wreckless, passing cars, and swerving lane to lane. He even came really close to rear ending someone. I figured was trying to catch up to me. Eventually he does and hes right on my tail at the first light. Turns green so I floor it a bit and get some distance between us. We catch the next light and he starts reving his engine and even started burning out! Im thinking yea hes really trying to show off. At the next light he turned off for whatever reason. I had a good laugh at this.

Navy guy here,

I was sitting in the parking lot on base before our morning muster just this morning, when an RSX and WRX pull up a few spaces behind me. They started revving to show off, so sitting in my C5, my buddy looks at me and I flexed too. About 30 seconds later, up walks a Senior Chief who says "IF YOU THREE WANT TO HAVE A DICK MEASURING CONTEST, TAKE IT SOMEWHERE ELSE."

I do it every chance I get. Not in traffic, nor in neighborhoods, etc. I usually don't exceed the speed limit either. People are amazed how many car lengths can be pulled on them from 0-speed limit.

You are extremely lucky that cop wasn't doing his job.

We spent 30 minutes on the side of the road with me showing him all the features of the new Mustang.
Show respect, be honest and give all the right answers and things go well.
Cops like cars too!
