The 9005 mod is THE way to go. Easy to accomplish with amazing results for very few "dead presidents."

I'm kind of disappointed to hear though that the HIR emit yellow and not white light. I'm trying to go all white on the exterior, except for brake and drl lights. So i'm guessing Silverstar Ultra is the next best choice?

..Any updates as to how much of an improvement you gained ?? Do the Silverstars emit a white light, blue/white light, yellowish light, or any before/after comparison pics ??....

The thing with the silverstars and other lights you can go buy off the shelf at your local parts store is that they only have a perceived brightness difference. Per the bulb specs, that 9006 whether it be the standard, XV, ST, SU or SZ will all emit 1,000 lumens of light. What they also don't tell you is that those fancy ST SU or SZ lights only have a 200 hour rated lifespan versus the standard bulb's 1,000 hour rated lifespan.

For what it's worth, here's the lumens of the other bulb numbers.

9005 1700 lumens
9012 (HIR2) 1700 lumens
9011 (HIR1) 2300 lumens
Dxx (35w HID) 3200 lumens
