TPMS from RockAuto Date Codes?
Has anyone purchased the Schrader TPMS Sensors from RockAuto? Are the date codes recent to purchase date?

I bought mine from Rock Auto three years ago on clearance. If I remember right, they were less than a year old. Since my original units lasted 13 years I figure a year old is nothing.

I can't verify what you are asking, but if you are looking at the 28006, I know when I was looking for replacements they had an older style on closeout and newer style also. So I would say they are up to date. When I was getting mine, Tirerack has them for around same price and is where I purchased from since I was getting tires from there as well.

Discount tire carries Schrader tpms sensors and everyone I got from them last month was date stamped 2016. Had I known that they carried Schrader I would have just bought from them and not gone through all the bs I did buying from Amazon with old sensors that didn't work.

And you do not need that fancy magnet they try to sell you if you are going to train yourself. I used these and they worked fine. http://www.homedepot.com/p/MASTER-MA...91HD/202526387

I do not believe those will work on your 99' unless maybe it has been upgraded. 97-00 Schrader part number is 28006. Just seen you said upgrade. So does that mean your changing receiver and fobs too?

I did the 01-04 conversion on my '99 also.
The Schrader 20117 are the ones I used for the later system conversion. I got mine a few years ago from Rock Auto on a clearance pricing too. Mine were within a year old. I accepted that for them having the cheapest price I could find.
Also if you are looking for new fobs for the conversion I found them on Ebay for about $12 each (I bought two for just under $24). They look and function like OEM but cheap.
The only thing I didn't find a good price on for the conversion was the connector for the new style RFA. I just hate paying a lot for a connector that is simply some cheap molded plastic. Oh well, I did it because I needed the connection.
Good luck.

I thought I was going to be smart earlier this year and replace my working sensors on my 04 because I was buying tires anyway. I ordered a set of SCHRADER AUTOMOTIVE 20117 from RockAuto and had them installed with new tires. Only one of them would activate. Even had the dealer try. I ended up spending an additional almost $300 to have the dealer replace them with factory sensors. I would personally stay away from the Schraders.

The OEM units are made by Schrader. I bought 4 from Rock Auto on clearance. Had tire shop install them, no charge, when they mounted my new tires. They did not have the magnet so I bought one and trained them at home in about 3 minutes. They have been perfect for 3 years now. I would not buy anything else.

I have bought a few sets of Schrader's. They are the OEM manufacturer and are the same part except for the OEM is black plastic and the aftermarket Schrader's are orange plastic.
I trained mine with a cheap 1" x 2" x 1/4" radio shack magnet and they worked fine. It is easier to train them before installed in the wheel. You can do them all sitting in the driver's seat. Just mark them so you install them in the wheel for the correct position. If already installed, try placing the magnet in the barrel of the wheel where the body of the TPMS is instead of at the valve stem. You can get the magnet closer that way and I have had more success.
On one set of sensors the cheap magnet would not activate 2 of the sensors ever, and the other 2 were about a 20% of the time I could get them. It was frustrating since I had done a bunch of them before and I knew how to do it. On that set it was tougher than the others I had done. I bought the same size magnet but got a Neodymium N52 magnet which is supposed to be the strongest type magnet. When I tried that magnet, all four trained normally on the first try as they should have.
Good luck.
