Default FRC / Z06 Leak Prevention in Trunk?

With the trunk up, I'm wondering if my leak (posted in another thread titled "Oh No!! FRC Leaking!") is due to this gap highlighted in yellow scribbles. Anyone ever tried caulking this area? Is it a bad idea? What caulk would you use?

Here's a link on another site that discusses it.

I do not have a leak in my C5 but in other cars that I did, I used GE 100%Silicone Water Proof clear. First I made sure the area that I intended to use it was the guilty area, then applied the sealant.

Good luck in stopping your leak.
