Dynoing really isn't necessary at that level, but if you choose too then you should not pay over $5-600.

Do you guys think it would be a good fit for a full bolt on H/C/I and good amount of nitrous on top of that build?

I'm aiming for minimum of 600whp and consistent low 10's. My C5 Coupe put that down and only ran 10.7's at 130mph.

Great info! Yeah, I'll have to put some thought into when to get it dyne tuned. I don't want to waste money unlike the last time I modded my car.

I'm one of those rare guys that drive through rain (and occasionally get caught in torrential downpours going cross-country); never had a problem with water intake. Installation is not easy, but if you can do it on a lift it's less painful!. Vararam + Power Duct + Headers took my stock 01 to 357hp and 367 torque on the dyno. Throw in 411 gears and you've got a car that's really fun to drive! Good luck!

Thanks for the tutorial video.. very helpful. It doesn't look too bad.. Maybe a PITA to get some of the front duct bolts off. Guess we'll have to see huh?

If you are adding headers wait till all work is done before tune.

Thank you... Yeah, 414 Stroker w all the goodies including stand alone and a 250 shot... Take your time... Rome wasn't built in a day....

Removing engine this weekend.... Tweaking a little for an upcoming WGF event.

End game is H/C/I with wet nitrous setup aiming for consistent low 10's to high 9's on a 6spd. I had high 10's in my old C5 Coupe with C/I and 175 shot of nitrous.

Thanks for the advice, I'll do a search for bench flow or CFM flow restrictions.

Yeah, I hope you do. Those cars that you can't steer can be a real pain in the ***......

I concur ...I actually had H/C w the VR2.... Added the honker when I built the Stroker, added the Halltech once I added the Nitrous... It's a work in progress....

The Vararam does become restrictive on high HP builds, but for a bolt on or cammed C5 they work great.

From the MAS comes over the top of radiator to the throttle body. The air bridge breathes better than stock and also eliminates that accordion style hose to the intake. Comes with the air bridge and silicone boot plus the four inch clamps. Go to VR web and you will find it. Cost is $99

As you can obviously tell, I have done some research and searched the forums.. but I want to be sure before I make my purchase. I'm planning on lots of drag strip time, so I want to get the best bang for my buck.

I had a 2000 C5 and because I failed to do proper research for a clutch (after many other mods), I went through 2 before finally settling on a 3rd which was a McCleod twin disc. That was a lot of wasted money.. I don't want to waste money on this build.

Thanks again for you input.. I greatly appreciate it and good luck on your install this weekend.

Installed and heres what I have to say. I love the look! looks nice and real clean! I havent done any drives WOT yet but I can instantly tell a difference from stock. The main difference that I feel is that it really breathes a whole better. I can tell it was 'struggling' for air before with the stock air box and now it sucks, in a good way! lol In my opinion, it can accelerate a lot better now too, but that is just from my buttometer. Overall, really glad of the purchase!

The Vararam in combination with the ECS mail order tune was the biggest gain I have felt on my car. Even more than my cam.
