I have the SLP Loudmouths on my FRC and LOVE them. The drone was a bit much at first but the trade off for hearing that LS at wide open throttle and under acceleration...I wouldn't change a thing. I did want to hear my tunes better so I did upgrade the stereo and speakers. Some people call them obnoxious or too loud...but they're great in my book. OP - the Block It that was mentioned in a previous post would be a good option unless you are already convinced to replace them with a quieter exhaust. Good luck on which ever choice you make.
EDIT- forgot to mention I have a 170 mile a day round trip commute and I drive my Vette everyday for it. STILL not tired of that drone and ROAR. And for what it's worth I'm not some young punk kid...into my 40s and still prefer a loud and exciting exhaust over quiet and boring but that is a personal choice.

Heck, even my Lincoln has Flowmasters. Same goes for the Harley, and 2 trucks with hornblasters.com mods as well.
I do live out in the country though.

We redesigned or C5 systems a few years ago and completely eliminated drone. Our ATAK system is very aggressive with zero drone, no drone, dronefree...

I have the borla stingers and they droned a lot at first, I remebner even having to use tissues in my ears on a long highway drive to cut the drone, but after a while either the exhaust mellowed out of my ears got used too it , cause im now looking for something a little louder (bullets or straight pipes)

Put your old exhaust back on, and install 'electric cut outs'. This way you only annoy the neighbors sometime, not all the time.

Hi my friends,
just installed the Slp Loudmouth on my C5.
Outside the sound it's amazing ,inside it's too much loud .I can't hear the music and talk with the passenger.
It hurt my ears.
Anyone of you ever been in this situation with the exhaust?
How did you solve it?With an acoustic insulator?
Greetings from Italy to all!

With all the other modded cars and lifted and straight piped trucks around here I'm certainly not the loudest and most obnoxious one. Rolling through the neighborhood I generally go up a gear to keep the revs lower and try to be somewhat courteous. And if it was that bad my neighbor and buddy 2 doors down, who happens to be a county deputy, would have said something to me by now.

To me a loud and obnoxious sounding exhaust sounds very cheap. ( something an 18 year old might like... )
esp if the car is stock
All subjective though
Real fun is making power without drawing the wrong attention

Its not the first time you will hear someone say, " He drives a Corvette, he must have a small ***** ". Or a Corvette is a size compensator. I think loud and obnoxious exhaust tone on such a classic car, is in the same vein and mind set as a ***** compensator.
While I appreciate the attention my car gets, for its looks and sound, it's designed not to be loud and obnoxious for a reason. Personal taste, respect for others, and most of all respect for the car for what it's classic lines represent.

Someday after everyone that is so cool making their car louder than anyone else's, it will be cool to be silent. I wish Harley's were electric. The only thing that makes a loud exhaust sound good, is running WFO on the track. The rest of the time, it is mostly annoying to anyone, other than the ear's of the beholder. Like the ones putting loud exhaust on the late model V8's, idling on 4 cylinders.
