Default SLP LOUDMOUTH too much loud inside

Hi my friends,
just installed the Slp Loudmouth on my C5.
Outside the sound it's amazing ,inside it's too much loud .I can't hear the music and talk with the passenger.
It hurt my ears.
Anyone of you ever been in this situation with the exhaust?
How did you solve it?With an acoustic insulator?

Greetings from Italy to all!

Riccardo

Those are basically straight pipes.

My Borla stingers are loud.... I might be going back to the stock Z06 Ti.

Thank you Josh for your answer.

Really my ears are on fire...

I had Corsa extremes with my LT headers and cat delete..........Corsa's lasted a week before I sold them and went back to the ti's. Go to a local exhaust shop and have them weld some resonators in to quiet it down, or trade them to someone.

Straight pipes and bullet mufflers a lot of times have resonance or buzzing especially in the 2500 rpm range or when giving throttle at low RPM.

Exhaust systems that have more of a muffler lessen that.

The SLP and Borla Stingers are on the loud side of the options.

Corsa Sport axle back exhaust, formerly called Pace Car, is the best system available. They are plenty loud, no drone and interior noise is low when cruising. Exhaust drone is probably the most offensive noise you hear inside the car and it can rattle your brain. Ti is too tame for a performance car.

Yes!!!At 2500 rpm it is impossible to listen.I prefer to drive at 5000 all the time

Loud mouth IIs on my C6 is why I developed the Blockit sound deadening mats. Helped take a bite out of the exhaust drone.
By no means is it dead quiet. Those are loud!

Loud and obnoxious is cool for a day... but it gets old very quickly... To me a loud and obnoxious sounding exhaust sounds very cheap. ( something an 18 year old might like... ) that just my opinion. ON a rare occasion I get to hear " My Car " when a friend takes it out.
Nothing sounds or looks sweeter than my car going down the road.

I bought the Corsa Indy Pace car system with X pipe 15 years ago. It doesn't owe me a penny. There is nothing out there that sounds so good to my ears either from inside the car or outside the car.. The Corsa tone is a timeless expression of the timeless design of the C5. There is a reason that GM awarded Corsa a GM part number for this exhaust system. I could sell my Corsa system tomorrow for 700 or 800 dollars. There is nothing out there that would be a more perfect combination of cabin tone, and actual outside throttle response tone.

I keep wondering about this. Has anyone added glass packs to an exhaust that is too loud? How did that go?

I have the borla stingers and they droned a lot at first, I remebner even having to use tissues in my ears on a long highway drive to cut the drone, but after a while either the exhaust mellowed out of my ears got used too it , cause im now looking for something a little louder (bullets or straight pipes)

I've got high flow cats, an x-pipe and a ti Z06 catback on my '03 M6 coupe. Will it set off car alarms? Nope. Nice and quiet, drone free at cruise but if I step into it, people WILL know i'm around. LOVE IT. (Also have a Honker CAI and tune on it)

But, I'm not into loud as a lot are so maybe I'm not the best person to judge by.

i got stingers and theyre pretty nice but im totally getting used to them and want louder. Thinkin about getting cutouts on stock exhaust right before the mufflers. That way i can be quiet at night/early morning

I love the stock exhaust that replaced my straight Borla's. I can hit 45mph in first gear anytime I want! And the POS radio even sounds OK.

agreed. Just put the Corsa Pace and X Pipe in my C5. It's perfection. The X pipe is a must. Just read about it and you'll see why. My C5 feels and sound so refreshed, and I wish I had done it sooner!
