Default C4 Seats in a C5???

Has anyone put C4 seats into a C5? I've always like the seats in my 91 ZR-1. I like them so much I put a set in my Pro Street '56 Chevy.

The seats in my 98 are pretty beat up, and there is a ZR-1 being parted here in town. I thought, since I'll be pulling the seats out of this 98, maybe it's worth a look to throw a set of C4 seats in there.

Thoughts?

My '94 "batwing" were awesome. I was disappointed in the C5 seats, but they aren't bad enough to swap out yet.

Not sure if the power functions would work without a lot of mods, but it would be an interesting swap. Post it up if you try this.

Would the person parting out the car let you test it out first - doesn't take long to pull a C5 seat out of the car.

I don't know, I haven't got that far in the conversation with him yet. I know they're still available.

Great question. I don't think in all the years I've been on here I've ever seen anyone post a retro-fit of any generation of vettes seats into another generation.

Personally I think that the Lear Sport Seats in my 95 are the most comfortable long distance seats of any vette. I'd love to put a reupholstered pair into my 04.

I've always liked my seats in the 91. If I go this route, I will post up the results.

C4 seats look very nice. I think my C7 Competition seats would be awesome if they fit the C5.

The C4 seats were better than the C5 seats....the C5 seats make me think they were pulled out of the Chevy Cavalier parts bin.......that's why I installed Corbeau A4s into my C5.

I suspect they will work, but I have not tried it. I have seen swaps the other way from C5 or C6 to C4's that fit ok, but not the other way.

I have thought about doing that too. I have the '94-'96 base seats and '94-'96 sport seats in my C4's. Both of them are a lot better seat than my C5 seats.

Keep us posted if you make the swap and let us see how they fit and if you had any issues in hooking them up.

I certainly will. There is more adjustability in the ZR seats with the side bolsters, and other adjustments you don't get in the C5 seats, so I'm sure there will be some electrical hook up mods that would need to be done.

Thanks.

Ha ha, the C5 are clearly straight off the S-10 assembly line.

My S10 is more comfortable. Lots better foam. My C5 foam is collapsing.

The power functions would be easy, just have to locate the switches somewhere. I love the C7 seats, even the base seats are a legit sport seat. The C5 and even the C6 seats are NOT a sport seat.

I almost did the same had C-4 with new seats and also an 04 Z ,the seats were way better than the C-5 . I finely rebuilt a set of sport seats installed them in the 04 worked out but three rebuilds later !!! . I was going to get them right or go broke trying I think it would been cheaper to put in C-7 seats in thing . I think I got $1000.0 in the seats nice but a pain .. If had it to do over I would have gone with the C-4 sport seats I like them . If you like them then do it . A little old school who cares well maybe your butt cares..
