Default Hankook V12s - Wear Rate?

For anyone running these tires, I'm curious what type of lifespan/tread wear you're achieving?

I paired up a set with my CCW 505As back in 2012 and it seems once I hit the 5000 mile mark on the tires, they are wearing at an accelerated rate.

The ride has been good and they're still sticky, however I'm curious how many miles the average set lasts, assuming the rears aren't taking any extraordinary abuse.

Another reason I'm asking is that two of the four tire pressure sensors that came with the wheel/tire package have given up the ghost and I would rather install new sensors with new tires, vs. removing the tires just to install new sensors.

Thanks!

Got about 33k on my C5 out of a set. Put another set of the same back on.
Also put a set on my C6.

With the Hankooks, you should be able to install new sensors without taking the tires off the wheel. The sidewalls flex enough that breaking the bead should allow enough room to take out the old sensor and install the new one.

As far as the wear rate, can't really help you with that. I only have a little over 5K miles on my Hankooks but I will say they still look like new - no abnormal wear at all.

I have 30,000 miles on mine and they look to be good for another year (at 15k/yr).

I have slightly over 25K on my set - the ride is still good, the wear pattern is even. At the same time I replaced the shocks, sway bars, and brakes. I check the balance and alignment when I put the Vette back on the road each spring. I am planning to replace them next year.

Interesting. So simply deflate the tire and reach under the lip to swap out the sensor? Is it that easy?

11,000 on Ventus V12 EVO. The 'Hankook' lettering has just disappeared on the center tread rib. Tires wearing even, ride is good, just the right amount of traction and they're quiet. Will put another set on when it's time. They now make the EVO2 tire.

alignment and power are what cause accelerated wear. if you're stock power and have a modest alignment they should be a 30k mile or 6 year whichever comes first tire

higher power levels are always scrubbing harder tires so rather you realize it or not there is more force and more pressure going on the tire to the pavement even if the tire isn't spinning

I got my C5Z with Ventus V12s wrapped around some Forgestars. They're great in town and the wet traction is pretty good. I've probably got 10K miles on them and they look to be in pretty good shape. I'm guessing by about how long the previous owner had it and installed the new rims.

They're awesome tires, I had trouble really getting them to break loose until we had a cold front a couple of weeks ago and they started to really not hook up like I needed for the last autocross. The weather change really started to make them not warm up. Handled ok at the track for a 320 rated tire, but since my C5Z is my weekend car and Autocross machine I'll be switching to either BFG Rival-S or Potenza RE71s because I need a 200 tread rated tire to be competitive in AutoX. I found my limit with these tires and at the track they're not cutting it (I didn't expect them to perform like a stickier tire, but my classroom time has finally started to find the limits of the car on the pavement and the tires are the weakest link right now).
For being used for autoX they actually don't wear as bad as I thought they would. So I'm happy with that. I'm happy with everything else with these V12s though. If I wasn't racing my Z06 I'd gladly buy another set.

I wonder if the outfit you bought your wheel/tire package from installed sensors that were at least five years old at the time of your purchase. Very puzzling.
I'm confused as well as I bought the full wheel/tire package from CCA (505As) so I'm not sure if they have OEM sensors or how old they actually are. What's also interesting is that the two sensors not working are both in the drivers side, i.e. Lxxx error with the Check TPMS sensors start up on the DIC display.

I wii try retraining them as I agree 4 years is still pretty young of the sensors we're new at install.

Got 35k out of my last set of Hankook EVOs, they were just starting to hit the wear bars and I'm pretty sure I could've gone another 3 or 4k out of them. Bought a used set of larger wheels/tires and plan on putting EVOs on those when they wear out.
