What was your previous car before your C5?

1/4 mile/AutoX
I had a friend who needed to borrow my pickup, and he switched vehicles with me. He had a 280Z which was for sale , and he said after you drive it (I know you) you will want to buy it. I said fat chance I will never own a foreign car. Well I didn't get my truck back and he didn't get the Z back. After a year I bought a 300 ZX and loved it, the only foreign cars I have ever owned !!

Here are the most recent toys I've had. My wife requires me to sell the old one before adding any new ones with the exception of the 02 MINI S which she just took over as hers when I was ready to move on.
The MINI was my first track car and got a ton of mods done over the years. Header, cat back, 17% pulley, coil overs, Wilwood brakes, the list goes on.
I then moved on to a turbo charged Hayabusa sand car. 280 hp in 1000 lbs total weight. That was a rocket, could rev to the moon (11,000 rpm) and had 18" of wheel travel. The down side is it required an enclosed trailer and the dunes are 4.5 hours from where I live. I just got tired of the hassle involved to use this toy.
I sold the sandcar and trailer to help finance a 2013 Camaro 1LE. That was a fun car that was very fast on the road course. I upgraded to CTSV 6 piston brakes and some suspension bits. Fun car but I hated having so much money wrapped up in a car that was only seeing about 2k miles a year so sold it.
I got the urge to have a fast ride again so I started looking for a good track prepped car. I looked at several but I loved the LSX power so started to focus on the C5 platform. I found a 02 ZO6 that had many track mods, (trans, engine and rear end coolers, LS3 with mild cam and LTHs, poly bushings, sway bars, trans upgrades, larger rad and the list goes on.

I sold this to buy the C5.
It made 280 whp / 295 wtq on a heartbreaker dyno (stock STIs ran 200-210 WHP) @ 20 PSI. Had a bunch of Defi gauges and a decent stereo, too. The goal was to use the money I got from that to pay off this:
and buy the C5 with the remainder. It had all kinds of things done to it (wheels, tires, ARB bumper, lift, lotsolights, etc).
Unfortunately, the Tacoma was totaled when someone ^$*!Q^$*@) crossed the center line and hit me head on. So I bought a C5 a little before I had planned on and daily drove it for a few weeks in the summer until I purchased my new Tacoma, which is, as of right now, painfully stock.
I like the C5 more than the STi. The STi was significantly quicker and was faster through the turns, but the C5 is way more fun to enjoy because of the roof.

My C5 didn't replace anything, but was added. Unless I count the past "fun" toys I've had (not DD). I had an '84 T/A, a '94 T/A, a couple of motorcycles (sport bike and a cruiser). The '99 vert is the first "toy" I've had in about 8-10 years.

Thanks! I had a lot of fun building that car. The absolute only car I would have gotten rid of it for was a Vette. So I did for my first one. Still miss it and the looks and compliments I always got driving it around.
