The Z is HERE
So after a ton of transport drama and back and forth, the z was delivered last night. I must say this is the cleanest Vette I have owned so far. The interior smells new and the paint is awesome. I have a lot of work ahead of me to correct the swirl marks and seal/treat the paint. However, right now I'm just so excited to have it sitting at home in the garage!
I had to make the key ring appropriate

So the UPS man came through today in a major way. Dropped of my MGW race shift kit and ****. I'll detail the process when I install it this weekend. But for now, here is what comes with the kit.....

V1 Radar Hardwire
I also got a chance to install my V1 radar via hard wire (invisicord) to the rear view mirror. I am probably a part of the minority that prefers suction cups to the blend mount. I just don't like the whole radar hanging off the mirror. IMO the C5Z already has a low slung field of view. By having it tucked away up and to the left, I feel more comfortable with the look and field of vision. For me, it's perfect.

Had some time after work to focus on the car. I took it to the emissions testing facility and put her on the rollers. I don't know why I'm always nervous when doing this, probably a guilty conscience. Fortunately I passed with flying colors so it was on to the next round of modifications. I added my new corner lights and started on the front license plate mod. Took about an hour or so not the worst install I have ever done. You'll notice in the pictures that I put silicone around the edges of the lights to keep out the moisture. You can't see it when installed. I'm really happy with the outcome.
Here is my moment of anxiety watching it on the rollers
and here is some progress pics from the corner light install
Next I got started on the front plate mod. I took my time and measured the exact distance around the edge to ensure it was even with the curve of the plate. I used sort of a plotting line graph style of measurement.....if there is such a hen I wanted to make sure the corners on the top were round enough to not bind the edging I ave to install so I used a coins round edge to help outline a corner. Ten trlied on the upper edge of the corvette logo for my top cut. At any rate, here is the before. I'll post up finished products after work when I dremel out the rest and install.

Someone else already brought up the wife... but man, she must be understanding!
How did you manage to pass emissions on the rollers? Years ago when we had to use rollers around here I would never pass because (from my understanding) the ECM wouldn't be happy with the rear tires spinning and the fronts stationary. Did you turn off traction control?

I'm really not sure, I wasn't aware of that issue. Here in CO all the emissions stations I have been to have rollers. Not to say they are state wide. They might have disabled traction control I'm not sure though, I was inside the glass watching from afar hoping for the best

Radar detector-
Problem is, as I am sure you know, after a while it will fall off, may break, or pull out cord. I use a suction cup too, and mount on right side of mirror, tucked under it. I have a wire tie going through mount and around mirror, so when it falls off, it hangs there.

The MGW is a great first mod you can see the quality for the price. I'd consider Amsoil torque drive fluid, anti-venom mod, and Ranger method clutch fluid change for the complete feel!

I had access to a lift at a my buddies house that also happens to be a master tech and avid Chevy builder. So we tackled the headers and exhaust this weekend. From start to finish it took us about 6 hours. Fortunately he has air tools and more tools then I knew existed. This isn't too bad of an install with 2 people, the right tools and a lift. While I had the valve covers off I figured it was a good time to replace the seals. Also i have posted some pictures of the MGW race shifter and the front plate mod completed.

I haven't posted updates in a while due to my new work schedule. I finally got around to:
1.) Painting the rear valence area - I took my time taping the entire part off and protecting the rest of the car from over spray (something I didn't so in the past and regretted). It came out pretty good however I will eventually wrap or paint it when I get the rest of the car dialed in. This will be a fine tuning touch
2.) Installed Redline interior bits - This turned out perfect. The only time consuming part was disassembling the oem parts and being cautious not to crack or break any parts.
3.) Installed Elite engineering skid bars - My driveway is damn near 45 degrees and I am within a millimeter of scraping. These will help protect the new LT headers that just hang slightly lower.
4.) Installed LED Halo lights - Thts is is one of my favorite modifications. It really updates the appearance of the back of the car. They also have the halo mod already done, which my lights in my last two c5's didn't.
