Default Dash and other vinyl interior protection 2003 Vert

I am wondering what you guys who have had so many of these cars recomend for interior protection and cleaning products.
I so far have been using the meguires leather protectant for the seats and such since mt 2014 Sonata has leather too.
Since this is a convertible and will have the top down in the Summer are there products that have proven to be better than others and some that are definate no-nos. I used to ArmorAll everything on other cars. will it do the same on these.
I know there was one product I used one time that made everything terribly sticky after it had been on and in the heat and I had a hell of a time getting it off but I don't remember what it was.
I use Meguires carnuba creme wax and their wheel and tire cleaner and also got some of their convertible to protectant.
I've heard pros and cons though over the Armorall for dash's and such and I did have a mess that one time after I put something on a dash but I don't remember what it was.
If nothing else I guess Meguires makes a vinyl protectant too but I was just wondering what some of the rest of you use.
One more question, does the silicone based tire shine stuff actualy do anything to protect tires or does it actualy hurt them somehow while keeping them pretty.
I enjoy shining the car up as much as driving it and admiring it afterwards.

I use aerospace 303 on all my rubber seals and vinyl. Protection from the sun and isn't real glossy.

Default You will find lots of conflicting advice here.

Everyone swears by what they use .no matter what.
There are products on the market that are good and some not too hood..

There are lots of products with disulfide in them ( it's the cleaning agent used ) many manufacutters use too much disulfide, and what happens is it makes those seats and dash surface so clean they suck out the oils and natural coating used on most automotive leather and vinyl.
Understand that coating protects the leather/ vinyl. Put a strong disulfide on your leather/ vinyl and it will remove it.
What this does is turn your leather / vinyl into a silicone junkie, requiring you to use more and it last a shorter amount of time ( it looks good and the manufacturer benifits by selling more product. Perfect example Armoral. Back in the 80's it got a bad rap for cracking dashboard pads. TOO MUCH disulfide.

Leather ( non automotive ) is a different animal and requires different focus understand and process.

Understanding all of this a scientific endeavor. But most people listen to the hype and marketing.

I'm not going to tell you what I use because that will only start a war of mine is better than yours.

You need a product without disulfides, one that is optically clear, and is UV stable.

Aerospace 303 is a good product but if you get it wet, it's done. You need to reapply it, so it's good for interior but not good for ecterior trim or tires.I tested it over three months, I don't use it on my C5

These seat skins are 14 years old and have 80,000 miles of seat time

You'll hear a million " mine is the best product" so good luck, if you want to know what I use pm me.

On all my leather and plastic in my triple BLACK 04 vert, I follow my owners manual.
Cleaning Leather
Use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and a mild soap or
saddle soap and wipe dry with a soft cloth. Then, let
the leather dry naturally. Do not use heat to dry.
• For stubborn stains, use a leather cleaner.
• Never use oils, varnishes, solvent-based or abrasive
cleaners, furniture polish or shoe polish on leather.
• Soiled or stained leather should be cleaned
immediately. If dirt is allowed to work into the finish,
it can harm the leather.
Cleaning the Top of the Instrument
Panel
Use only mild soap and water to clean the top surfaces
of the instrument panel. Sprays containing silicones
or waxes may cause annoying reflections in the
windshield and even make it difficult to see through
the windshield under certain conditions.

Cleaning Interior Plastic Components
Use only a mild soap and water solution on a soft cloth
or sponge. Commercial cleaners may affect the
surface finish.

I Just use mild soap and water for cleaning. I have terry cloth covers for the seats and use a white beach towel for the dash and sterring wheel when I leave the top down and park the vehicle for any length of time.

Modern auto leather is nothing like an old couch. Most are clear coated so traditional leather products will just sit on top of it. I've had good luck cleaning them with a boar's hair brush and a mild cleaner like diluted simple green or specialized interior cleaner from Adams. As far as protectant or coatings, I don't like shiny or greasy looking interiors in my cars so I typically just leave them with a nice matte finish, like the factory intended

Meguiar's Quik Interior Detailer. If you want a non-greasy, like factory new look this is the stuff. It cleans and protects without degrading you interior materials.

So Meguires makes an interior quick detailer too, that's good because I use the quick detailer on the outside all the time and like it alot. I will get the interior version when I see it. I can keep it all in the family that way.
I think we should be able to trust a company like Meguires.

No chemicals. Just terry cloth for the seats and a very large white beach towel for the dash and steering wheel.
