By wheel wells he means in front of and behind front and rear wheels - painted surfaces.
Find a installer for either SunTech or Xpel self healing paint protection film for the front bumber, hood, headlight covers, behind front wheels, as well as rockers and in front of and behind the rear tires. These are the areas that get hit the worst with stone chips and sand blasting on C5's. If I remember right it cost me about $1600 to have it done on my Z and I couldn't even tell its there(I had SunTech PPF) The 3M turns yellow and isn't self healing. The other 2 have a 5+ year warranty against discoloration.

What everybody said, but I must emphasize the tires. They are too old. I'm sure you want to drive the car . The LMC5 is a must also. Just do it.
If your wheels are thin spokes, check carefully fir cracks. Mine had them in the rear wheels, and other have had it happen as well.

I just bought NOS polished Y2K's from a forum member along with new rubber from Tire Rack. I'll keep the original rolling stock tucked away for after I'm dead and buried when the car will be worth something, LOL.
The LMC5 is in the car on the front seat waiting to be installed and I have a Z06 Titanium axle back setup being put on next month. We're getting a foot of snow today to remind me that we still have a winter to get thru - but man am I excited to get behind the wheel of this thing!
Thanks again!

I have a neighbor who has a Nassau Blue coupe..... I have told my wife I will be approaching him about my interest in it if he ever decides to sell.

Regarding the LMC5, I've had 2 C5's for only a total of 3 years, which doesn't make me an expert but I've dealt with the LMC5 on both. Richard at Compliance Parts is like a column lock angel/guru. If you have any question, just call him. He will talk you thru the entire process, which in my case with this car, involved uninstalling the LMC5 completely, reconnecting and starting the car, getting the steering wheel in the right position, then calling him back and his talking me thru the rest of the process until there were no codes.
I have the Z06 exhaust on mine too, best bang for the buck in that department! I added a Halltech Intake and had it street tuned at East Coast Supercharging. It may not be quite as fast as my Z, but it's not far either, and a lot more comfortable with the new seats.
Again, Good luck, snow is supposed to end here in about 2 hours and then the orange chomper comes out!

congrats.! I recently purchased a 99 c5 with 55k miles, so this info is helpful. One thing you might want to look into, is getting the ECM tuned. I believe this incorporates the steering lock column bypass fixed, changes the timing profile, lowers the fan turn on speed, several other things. best part is the reputable places like East Coast Supercharging and RPM in Delaware I believe only charge about $150 to mail in your ECM and tune it and send it back usually in a few days tops. worth a good 10-15 hp also.
good luck with the car!!

Congrats again, I finally did what I should have done 4 years ago when I got the car but those Michelins it has look so good (They are dated '02) , they are a bit hard especially when cold so I finally popped for a set of Firestone Indy 500's off Tire Rack, they have great reviews and for $538 shipped to the house I decided to give them a try...

Great find, CONGRATZ!
Have the A4 properly flushed.
Get a cargo cover for inside the hatch window (gets way hot on sunny days) and a mat to protect...
I decided to go w/C6 cpe sized whls&tires 18/19. It's lowered a bit too.
Here's a pic for reference should you decide to opt for the same in the future. Then, after the other recommendations, drive it!

Nice find !
Might consider popping off a door panel and checking the interior door seal. Mine were cracked/split after about 12 years...will dump a horrendous amount of water into the car - rain or during washing, no difference.
I know you said you wanted to keep it as close to original as possible, but along with a CAGS eliminator, which I though was about the best 20$ I spent on my C5, if you plan on drving after dark, I would highly recommend RadioFlyers ACA headlights. Bit more than 20$, but make a world of difference.

Work_Truck - I just finished your ENTIRE thread from your car's pickup and death-ride home, to your most recent updates. THANKS YOU VERY MUCH FOR SHARING THAT WRITE UP. I will follow suit, starting with the LMC5 module. My plan is to keep this car as close to original as possible, with the exception of the typical maintenance items and some minor enhancements (wheels, exhaust, etc.) - I also have an Audi A8L, a Chevy Tahoe, and a Dodge Challenger R/T (31k miles, 6-spd, soon to be for sale), so the miles won't be building up too badly I hope!
Here are a couple pics of the C5 - it also has the F45 suspension which I am not a fan of, but it is what it is.
