Thinking about changing to C6. Tire size? Pics please
Well I said I would never do it, but due to stock tire options and a friend giving me a set of wheels from his '08 taken off when it had 700 miles on it I am thinking about doing it. I have a 03 z06 with chrome stock wheels. I said I would never do it but tire options have me thinking differently. For people that have put c6 wheels on their C5 what size tires are you using and are they simply plug and play? The wheels are 18x8 and 19x10 . They will be going on my 2003 Z06. Also for those that have hade the switch post up a pic to help me get a little motivation to make the switch.

Front 18x8.5", 56mm offset - no spacer required
Rear 19x10", 79mm offset - 20mm wheel adapter (may require you to cut the wheel studs)
Front tires are 275/35/18
Rear tires are 305/30/19
Car is lowered no rubbing on the rears, front rubs slightly on full lock when turning.
The rear shot shows how flush the wheels are using the 20mm adapter - perfectly flushed for me as they are in ever so slightly.
Check out http://willtheyfit.com, it really helped me do the math on comparing tire/rim sizes and the geometry of what the spacer offsets would achieve. Took the guesswork out of it and the above result was bang on when I bolted them up.
Hope that gives you the info you need.

Those wheel widths indicate they are the Base C6 wheels and not the C6Z06 wheels. You do recognise that the offsets of the C6 wheels is greatly different than those of the C5 and especially the C5Z06. ( C6 rear offset 79mm vs C5Z06 rear offset 58mm) Also the C6 base rear wheel is 0.5" narrower than the C5Z06 wheel. Here is the C5 and C6 OEM wheel specs:
Backspace/offset dimensions are as follows:
C5 (coupe/vert):
Front 17x8.5", 58mm offset = 7.03" backspace
Rear 18x9.5" 65mm offset = 7.81" backspace
C5 Z06:
Front 17x9.5", 54mm offset = 7.38" backspace
Rear 18x10.5", 58mm offset = 8.03" backspace
C6 (coupe/vert):
Front 18x8.5", 56mm offset = 6.95" backspace
Rear 19x10", 79mm offset = 8.61" backspace
C6 Z06 and C6 GrandSport:
Front 18x9.5", 40mm offset = 7.22" backspace
Rear 19x12", 59mm offset = 8.82" backspace
C6 ZR1
Front 19x10 40mm offset = 7.22" backspace
Rear 20x12 59mm offset - 8.82" backspace
C5 and C6 wheel circle:
5 on 4.75" (120.65MM)
Center hub dia. 70.3mm
Minimally you will need a 1/4" spacer in the rear to keep the tires from rubbing the inner wheel wells. Even with a 1/4" spacer (the max you can use with factory studs and have the wheel securely fastened to the hub) the wheels will be well inside the rear fender wells and not flush or nearly flush to the fenders like your C5Z06 wheels sit. Many members that run base C6 wheels on a C5 use a 1" wheel adapter to bring the wheels out flush to the rear fenders. Front C6 wheels work without any mods on the front of the C5.
As far as tires you can certainly use the factory C6 tire sizes which are 245/40-18 Front and 285/35-19 Rear or even go a little larger on the rears to perhaps 295/35-19..............

I live in Toronto and picked them up from Northern Performance. Am sure you can find them locally from any Eibach retailer. Eibach SKU 90.8.20.001.01.
http://eibach.com/america/en/perform.../wheel-spacers
You can find them in the application guide, they are listed under a Chevy S-10.
You may/may not need to cut your wheel studs as the rims shown above have a recess where the factory studs may clear. I cannot speak to that with full knowledge as mine were already cut as I needed to do that for CCW wheels that ended up cracked (another story). The wheels above replaced the CCWs.
Anyways, the Eibach spacer identified above gave the results in the pics I attached.
