Default Plasti-Dip Rear Bumper Video/New Member Intro

Hey guys,

Long time lurker here. Started to mod my C5 I've had since last August. While most will disagree with my style (Cheaper route), I see many pictures and explanations on here, but not many videos for some installations.

So I decided to make a channel dedicated to just modding and blogging about this coming year meets/events/mod installation. While we see a ton of bloggers for Mustangs and other types of car events and styles, I have not found a blogger except Tyler Fialko with his stance vette. I don't mind that scene, but I'm not going to stance my vette. Please excuse my complete green editing skills. I'm still learning.

I've owned everything from Diesels, Evo 8, BMW 335I, Mustang (4.6 and new 16 ecoboost) I finally found the platform of the Corvette that I will keep. Just took me over a decade (family is hardcore Ford enthusiast's)

Here's the first video on Plasti-Dip the rear bumper. I know we have threads in this forum on how-to's with pictures, correct me if I'm wrong we don't have a video.

If this isn't allowed, just delete please. Anyways, thanks for all the advice even though you guys don't know it.

Welcome to the forum! I see you enjoy your C5. I did that mod to mine 2 years ago and still looks great today.

Cheap, easy mod that is readily noticed on the car. Well done.

I actually messed mine up the first time I tried a couple weeks ago. I let it dry and tried to peel off. It took 3 mins to peel it all off. Just remember if you do mess up, the thicker it is the easier it is to come off.

Looks good. Just a tip use electrical tape,it's easier than painters tape to get a good clean line.

Very few C5 youtube channels; just subscribed to yours. Thanks for sharing.

Another good C5 youtube channel is "Jamal's Garage".

I've been wondering about that stuff myself as far as how hard it is to get off.
I do think that sets the car off a little, mines silver too and I may try it myself eventualy.
I have wondered about the clear that they have, I have a feeling it wouldn't do what we want though as far as still being shiny while protecting the paint.
But like you said, all you have to do is peel it off and try again or just forget the idea and no harm is done

I've got a convertible same color as yours and I've been wanting to do this too, I think it would really blend well with the silver and set the exhaust tips. From what I've heard plasti dip is pretty easy to get off, hardest part would be the vents but they are pretty easily accessible.

Does it spray on just like regular paint from a can or is it thicker or something different about using it. I hear people talk about it but have never seen the stuff or the end results either. Being able to remove it like that is great.

Comes out just like spray paint. My wing install video has me painting my wing with plasidip too.
