Default C5 Sport Seats too Short

The thigh support hump of the seat hits me 2/3 down on my thigh which results in discomfort and pain. The C5 seat bottom cushion is about 2-3 inches shorter than the C6 seat.

My Cadillac SRX has a sliding thigh support tray that really works well for me. The BMW X5 has a similar sliding thigh support board.

It appears that the hump on the C5 is too tall and the seat bottom cushion is not long enough.

Has anyone encountered this problem and what did you do to solve it?

I have considered installing longer coil springs at back of seat to create a deeper butt pocket and/or re-shaping the hump by making it flatter. These two changes combined may be enough.

I have also read about replacing the C5 Sport seats with C6 seats.

It also been suggested that I replace the Sport seat bottom cushion/cushion frame with the C6 or SRX bottom cushion/frame but leave the power seat controls buttons and functions as stock.

Any input would be appreciated.

I put C6Z seats in, problem solved. Plus I have a C5Z so the Z06 embroidery works.

I've heard of using C6 seats in a C5 (as Drewstein did) and there are a number of aftermarket options out there that you could consider.

The Corbeau seats and all the other aftermarket seats appear to be taller than the OEM sport seats. Maybe they arent but they sure look it. Thats not a problem with a coupe or FRC but I have a vert and a taller seat would look awful.

How do the power controls transfer over/work?
Do you leave the tracks in and just replace the bottom cushion frame and up?

IIRC we swapped over the bracket from the C5 seat to the C6. Seat memory works along with all power etc.

It's been a while but I remember getting the idea from some threads on the forum back in the day.

I went down the path of trying to make these seats better. In the end they still suck better to go aftermarket or even c6 is a bit better
