Replace display window on hvac??
I can't find this anywhere so apologies in advance.
Has anyone just replaced the plastic display window in the front of their hvac. Mine has been scratched for a while now and I'm not even sure just the window can be replaced. I haven't found anywhere to order just the window either. Any advice??
Thank such!

If it's scratched and not cracked.. you might be able to sand out the scratch, then sand with finer paper and wet sand with something like 2,000, and buff out? Like polishing a taillight (i did this today on a few things).
if you can't do that, or the scratch is too bad -- I'd be shocked if you could find just the window. but maybe you can buy a "broken" unit for parts - and just get the glass out?
good luck!

I replaced mine with a used one. I purchased a used unit off of the big auction site. I used that good lens and scrapped the rest of the unit after finding out from another member that the rest of the unit was bad. I did not spend that much but I did get an good lens and buttons off the bad one. Good luck finding one.

Try polishing it out as mentioned above. If that doesn't work, I'm sure you can find a good used one at one of the forum used parts vendors.

I found it to be very soft plastic hence use very gentle abrasive to polish. I think I used some auto wax/polish to do mine with excellent results. (think automotive paint) So be gentle with polish and you will be successful.

Thanks I'll try the mothers plastic polish. That sounds like a good idea. Kind of light the headlight resurface. The wife and I just took her for a 250 mile spin. Beautiful day here in Tampa.
