Guys my car is hanging​ on a friend's lift going on 3 weeks waiting on trans and diff rebuild. The shop says the posi unit is trashed and GM won't sell him a new one only a full new rear for $2400. He says that Eaton will sell him one for $800 but it's 2-3 weeks and idk if I have that kind of time. I was shooting for finishing this thing this weekend in time for track night on the 5th but I guess that's out now. What should I do here? Buy a used rear and have him rebuild it with the gears, bearings and clutch stuff he already sourced or wait on a posi unit from Eaton? My head is spinning and my wallet is running for the door.

Not following why yours is trashed, and can't be rebuilt, but you could buy a used one, and it could be rebuilt.

I am thinking that RPM Transmissions will send you what you need, from stock clutch packs to a Quaife or Wavetrac differential.
