Come check out my SuperVette! (Pictures)
Howdy all!
I've been on this Forum for a few months now and I have found it to be the most valuable asset for a corvette enthusiast. You all have helped me a great deal in understanding more about my vette and all her little quirks. Before I get to my 'patter' I wanted to thank all of you that have given me the best advice. It has served me well. This is a very special place.
This is the 5th Corvette in the family. Personally my 3rd. My first was a Black '85 coupe (I loved that C4), then a Black '96 coupe. My uncle was the first to by a C5. I'll never forget when he parked next to my '96 with his Silver '97 coupe. It was brand spankin' new at that time. I told him that mine looked nicer than his. I felt the same way about the C5 at that time that I do now about the C6. I was probably just jealous . I did not appriciate the C5 for a while until my mom bought a '01 silver coupe. I still had the '96 at that time until last year on halloween I traded in my '96 for Torch Red '98 Vert ($24k with 35k miles, how could I say no? ). I was in total bliss with this vert. Ohh what a feeling huh? That feeling never goes away it seems. The C5 is the ultimate machine.
Ok.....
Now I know how some of you feel about ricing a vette. I assure you, this is not rice , it's 'nice'. I have a 'theme' going on with my vette. I happen to be a big superman fanatic (as you can probably tell by my screen name). I watched all the movies, read the comics, watch smallville (best show ever), etc. etc.... So I think of my 'Red' vette as my cape and the interior is my 'blue' suit (I know, I'm a cornball. but that's me ). So I have installed blue neon accent lighting in the interior and red neon lights inside the coves (an idea that I got from here actually). It (IMO) looks awesome. See for yourselves.
Well enough chit-chat here are some pics of my baby...
Here she is!
Notice the color scheme red, blue and yellow. Superman's colors.
We all know that green kryptonite is Superman's weakness.
I liked this shot.
Here's a shot at night of the interior. The lighting is installed on the sides of the seats, behind the seats and on the top of the console. 4 blue neon tubes (two 15 inch and two 9 inch) and two mini spot lights.
Here's a close up of the coves. Two red 9 inch tubes, one on each side.
I like how the light goes through the sport seats.
Close up of the console. Here I installed an ID plate from Ecklers with the spot lights on the plate.
Close up of the lights behind the seats.
Well there you have it.
I just wanted to let you all know that another fanatic has made his way to the best Forum on the internet. Thanks all.
