Default Driving School

Does anyone know anything about the Spring Mountain Driving School outside of Vegas (it used to be the Bragg-Smith Driving School)? Being a new owner I thought a little bit of instruction might be helpful.

Great school. I went there in February. Three days, lots of miles. Dave and Victor are great instructors. When I attended Rupert (Bragg-Smith) was still working the classes. I don't know if he does anymore. One of the smoothest drivers I've ever met in person. I can't wait to go back and do the advanced class.

Thanks Johninar. I am going to Vegas in Sept. for a buddy's stag so I thought I would tack on the driving school. Cheers.

Do the school before the stag.

Have only heard good things about that school. Here is a list of other driving schools - most are east of the Mississippi River and you use your own car. More fun that way.

Thanks for the list Au. Unfortunately, those are all a bit of a drive from Vancouver B.C. Cheers.

The Level 1 three day course is $2350. The level 2 two day course is $1895. They supply a 2004 Z06.

Just an FYI. They recently told me that they have 6 C6s on order and expect to start receiving them in October.

I took the Level I course in November 2002. Very excellent course. As far as I know now, Rupert Bragg-Smith is on the Board of Directors of the new Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch and will not be involved in the classes.

This is a very excellent course because it allows you to explore the limits of the Corvette and more importantly, your own limits. All in a safe environment. The best part is they supply the Z06, gas, oil and tires. If you were driving your own Vette you might not be as willing to push the envelope.

Level 1 Program

We are delighted to offer our Level 1 Program which offers three days designed to show you what the Z06 Corvette is capable of, show you what YOU are capable of and we will even push you beyond your limits so that you know what your limits are!! You will find our programs both challenging and rewarding, guaranteed!

Level Two Program

Now that you’ve mastered the basics of level One, join the rest of the graduates and put our cars to the test! We conduct the program very informally because we want our drivers to have the freedom to pick our brains, and hone their skills. Activities include power circles in the dry (this is like the skid car exercise, but no skid frame, and you're in a Corvette). By using our Power Circle exercise you’ll develop a higher level of balance, throttle modulation and the Visual Scanning techniques that are so important for high performance driving. These techniques will allow you to experience the limits of our Corvette Z06’s for an unheard of amount to free lapping time on our 2.2 mile road course. In any form of Motorsports, from Formula One down, the terms "Smoothness" and "Balance" are often used to describe a professional. As a graduate of our program, you will discover the true meaning of these terms and realize your potential as an advanced driver.
