Default Good Deal or Should I wait?

Hey Guys,

I've loved Corvettes since birth and have always dreamed of owning one. I just recently graduated from school (The University of Texas) and moved back home to Houston. I have a good paying job and I'm single so I think I can now make my dream come true.

My cousin is about to buy a C6 and wants to sell his 2001 vert with only 30,000 miles on it. It's in IMMACULATE condition and I know my cousin and he's taken great care of it. It has the torch red leather, too, which I love. He said he'll sell it to me for $28k, and I've been looking around. So far that seems like a pretty good deal given the condition. But my question is, do y'all think this car could be had for less after the C6 comes out?

I want to say I love this forum and the people on it. Tons of great info and super people.

28K for an 01 vert in great shape? Jump on it you know it's history and he's giving you a decent deal.

That's an excellent price for an '01 convertible - he's basically giving it to you for trade-in value or a little less. Don't wait - if anything, I expect C5 prices to go up, once the deep discounted '04s are gone.

When buying used, a good car is more important then a good deal. Here you are getting both. Buy the car, thank your cousin and maybe you can get his C6 when the 7s come out.
