This Annoying Quote Will **** You Off
Clearly showing a severe case of Corvette envy, this Jeep 'official' clearly shows that he has his head stuffed way up his a$$ in an article published in the Santa Maria (Ca) Times on Sunday, August 22.
After cooling off a bit, I had to laugh when I realized that due to severe inbreeding, Jeep owners HAVE TO wave at each other.... they might all be related.

For those who get the red "X":
From an article entitled "Camp Jeep revving it up for all to enjoy":
"Gistedt, who called himself a "Jeep fanatic", said there's a fraternity among Jeep owners that no other groups of car owners can match, no matter how sporty and slick.
'I've yet to see Corvette owners wave at each other as they drive past like we do,' he said. 'Jeep owners are like a big family.'"
Hmmm...I dunno how many of you have ever ridden in or driven a Jeep, but I had the mis-pleasure of driving one for a week during my honeymoon in Hawaii. We ended up with the Jeep after our previously rented car sprung a flat. I have to say that it is the worst, most uncomfortable thing I've ever piloted. If Jeep owners wave to each other more than Vette owners, then it is because of a deep-seated pain that they know every Jeep driver shares. (pun intended)

I had a CJ-5 in he 70's. The reason they are waving isn't for a greeting, rather than "hey can I get a tow." Take it off-road and work on it all the next week. POS

Hey guys, lighten up a little. Be happy that there are others out there who also love their cars. The repair record of older Jeeps probably isn't a lot worse then that of similar vintage Vettes, especially considering the beating they take when going off road.
I love my modified Cherokee AND my Vette. If you want to see how much fun you can have at 2mph, go on a Jeep Jamboree. You'll be amazed. Until then, you can enjoy your ride just as much without sinking to the level of the idiot quoted in the article.

I've been a Jeep Dude for a long long time. You guys are wrong. I've received far more waves when in my Jeep then in my Vette. I guess it's true, many Vette owners are snobs.

Good to see other brand owners that like their cars, but he sure doesn't know much about the Corvette community.

Thats not true, its just kind of in a coma. I get waves, just not as many as I'm used to. I'd say there is a 50% return rate. But then of course if I see a woman driving with a cellphone stuck up her A**, I don't bother to wave. Usually if its the situation where they can actually see you such as across the highway, street, etc then I get a wave. But expecting someone to see you through the tinted side windows is more of a longshot.

While at the dream cruise on Woodward this past weekend, I saw tons of Vettes, I think only two of them acknowledged me or responded to a wave...In my area, I have given up on waving at other Vette's, I get very few people that wave back...I like the concept though....

I've owned 2 Jeeps since 1993. That's 11 years of Jeep ownership. I've never rec'd a wave nor have I issued one to another Jeep. What the hell is this guy talking about????

And I wonder how often he is in a spot where two Corvettes are passing each other and he then is also paying any attention.
I believe the Jeep owners probably wave at each other but I have never seen it. For the same reason he has never seen Corvette owners waving, WE AIN'T LOOKIN'
