Question about CAGS eliminator.
I installed mine yesterday, and was trying to test it by trying to shift when the 1-4 light came on, but it never did. The forum member send me an e-mail, stating that when I install it the light will still go on, but it won't lock out 2nd gear. Now I was driving a lot yesterday, and the light never came on, and I never got locked out of 2nd. So it's not a problem really but it's more of a question for those who have the bypass installed. Does your 1-4 light come on????

Its true that if you install the CAGS eliminator the light will still illuminate but the it is not actually functioning due to the cags...
...however, mine doesnt light up either because of the reprogramming my PCM ...
If you have had changes on the computer it is possible that the light then will not illluminated...
IF not...I havent got a clue

The forum member sold me his CAGS because he said he reprogrammed his computer to no longer lock him out of 2nd. I nerver had any programming done to the car, and the light was comming on and locking me out of 2nd before I installed the CAGS eliminator.
I'm even more confused now.

I have CAGS and no reprograming. My light comes on but it is rare. That's because I'm almost always using more of the percentage of power specified within the parameters of the 1-4 Shift. Check your owner's manual as there are conditions that have to be met in terms of engine temp, and amount of power being called for by the go pedal. The only time mine comes on is when I'm behind a mope, which seems like always, so maybe it is now a subliminal thing that I just disregard.

My 1-4 shift light still comes on but has no effect. I also had a hard time getting it to come on when testing the CAGS eliminator. JUst drive normally and you'll probably notice the light from time to time.

Yes, the 1-4 shift light still comes on.

The 1-4 shift light will come on when:
The engine coolant temperature is higher than
169 deg. F (76 deg.C),
you are going 15 to 19 mph (24 to 31 km/h) and
you are at 21 percent throttle or less.
