Musty Smell in Air Vents?

I ordered the above kit recommended: Cooling Coil Coating Kit with Extension Nozzle, P/N 12346391. The dealer told me $6 over the phone. When I went to pick it up he said $500!!! It was a 6-8oz. bottle of fluid and some sort of adapter nozzle for a compressor. I told them that I would pass. Is this right?
