C5s at Eureka Springs
I'm guessing there were about 1,200 Corvettes at the Eureka Springs rally last Thursday through Sunday and 40-50% were C5s. None were very radical, except two were there from Texas with the 1954 body modifications, and both of these cars were very, very sharp.
Aftermarket exhaust and intakes were common; saw about 7-8 custom hood liners, 9-10 cars had either the chrome/SS catalog engine compartment parts, or the color matched parts. Very little custom paint or striping on C5s and very few with any interior mods. Not more than a dozen C5s with aftermarket wheels - most of these were standard C5s sporting Z06 wheels.
One supercharged C5, one C5 with NOS.
Someone said there was a C5 vert. at the rally with the rear body widened 8" and the windshield chopped 3", but I never saw it.
Two C6 coupes showed up - one was an ugly rust brown and one a pale yellow. The owners of both had "attitudes".

I was going to head out there, but it looked like rain until about Noon here in Little Rock.
I heard it was quite a turn out! Pics?

It was a great weekend! There were more than 500 Vettes on the Friday night cruise. I'm guessing that there were more than 1500 vettes there and saw 4 C-6's. Three at the Saturday car show. They were getting quite a bit of interest from attendees. Got a new avatar pic at Lake Leatherwood.

It was a beautiful sight to behold, that's for sure. All of the Vette family was very friendly and acted just like that "family". At least the one's I talked to. This was the first time I really got to check out the C6. Nice car, but it's just not for me. Of course I had the same feeling with the introduction of the C4. Maybe I will like it as a little time passes. Congrats to those who have one, but for now I will remain a C5 owner.

I drove over on Sat. Lots of C5's! Many with mods. - dress up and performance. Talked with two guys that both just got C6's. One had a C4 before and he said it was night and day! The other had a C5 previously and called the C6 a C5 on steroids!
Only stayed a few hours - wife gets bored, go figure!
Maybe next year I'll try to go for two or three days! Got to be some shopping for the wife there somewhere!
