Default Radio lights out !!! Help!

I was driving yesterday and my lights that light up #3 and my #6 on my radio went out! Am I going to have to replace the whole radio? Is there a quick fix?? Has anyone had this problem?? It looks funny with my 1,2,4,5 lit up and 3 and 6 out!

I had a problem with the radio lights flickering. Someone on the forum told me they had a similar problem, plus their headlights would not work on occasion. Fix was to tighten up the contacts on the battery. Worked for me too.

2 of my suburban radio lights went out and I was told that I would have to send it in to get them fixed for a cost of $100. Well, I'm a pretty handy guy so I opened up the radio and it did not look like an easy fix so I sealed it back up and now 4 don't work. What the hell...guess I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and pay the $100.

One of my A/C buttons doesn't light up. The yellow indicator comes on, but no white A/C logo. I can live with it for now.

The lights in the radio are replaceable but it does require you to disassemble the radio. You can buy the bulbs here

None yet, but I'm sure it will require more effort than I am willing to put out right now. So I'll just leave it, honestly I was hoping someone would chime in and say "that's the way they are" so I wouldn't have to mess with it!! If I get it anytime soon, I'll let you know!

I was told by a dealership that the lights on the HVAC controls were not serviceable and the only way to fix it was to replace the unit.

I was told the same. A new radio. He said about 250 bucks! There has got to be a better way!

Consider replace lamp element w/ LED (if possible). I have not looked into it yet, but LED's are very small and really easy to work with..

I've done some accent lighting (fender cove lights)

LED fender Cove Accent lights

and replaced the lamps in the door (power window, door lock, mirror), etc. by using blue LED's. It looks awesome!

Just a thought...
