I've had mine replaced three times now, but each time was under warranty. If you do it yourself, be sure to get the updated seal that came out about a year and a half ago. Seems like this seal does a much better job of holding up than the earlier version.

Mine has been replaced twice but so far this one is holding up. They did install the the new seal when I requested it thanks to someone on this forum informing me to do so.

One of the forum vendors has a package deal with mag drain plug and new seal for fill plug. Do a search in the vendor section and you will probably find it. Good luck!

I have had mine replaced twice, first time at approx. 6,500 miles (March 2002) and recently had to have it replace again (12,570 miles, July 2004). Seems to be holding up fine (at the moment). The techs are telling me that mine leaks because I let the car sit for to long (two to three months at a time). I'm not sure if I buy that explanation or not.
