Default WTB: Auto hauler trailer

Moving from South Florida to PA in a couple of months, company transfered me to new location. Was wondering if anyone in South Florida area new of any reasonable priced trailers for sale. I have to haul the Vette with my Silverado North, don't trust car carriers. Want to compare purchasing a trailer vs. renting a trailer to haul the Vette. Thanks for any leads. I'm not looking for a real fancy enclosed trailer as I can't afford that, unless someone has a lead on a sweet deal for one. Just a good conditioned trailer capable of safely hauling the Vette 1200 miles with no problems. Thanks again.

For a one shot deal you will be better off renting one.

Yes, unless you plan on using it much later, it's not going to be worth it...

I am on my 2nd one, and use it often...thinking of upgrading to a fully enclosed, but unsure right now. If I did, I'd sell mine for $2800. It's a full tread bed with hydraulic tilt instead of ramps. Has battery and charger for hydraulic operation and is a 2 axle trailer with electric brakes. New price was about $5-6k and it is about 5 years old...

My first cost me $2100 brand new, so you'll be able to base some cost basis in there. Keep in mind that some people want almost new prices for their trailers, so buying new is sometimes an option.

Not always. Depends on distance, I would check the cost of a one way rental first. I have a 74 Vert that my Aunt gave me a few years ago. It is 60 miles north of Seattle, and I am in central FL. It has been parked for 16 years now, so it will need to be hauled back to FL. U-Haul quoted me $2100 for a one way car trailer rental from Seattle to Orlando. They are much cheaper if you get it with a truck rental. In my case, it would have a big cost advantage to buy a trailer out there, then sell it here at home when I am done. Just food for thought!

I suggest you check Ebay. There are many available in a wide variety of configurations, conditions, and prices. I'm also in the market. If you choose to buy one and decide to sell it after moving, let me know. Maybe we can work something out.
