Default HUD installed: $650, new GM HUD, switch, bezel

I've done quite a few of these when I was up north in CT, I'll be offering this install at our location in Vero Beach, FL, EnglandGreen Inc.

1. GM HUD projector
2. GM HUD switch
3. GM bezel
4. HUD 11 pin connector

this is very popular with the 2001 Z06's that were not offered with the HUD from GM

I use the exact cuts GM used on the dash pads, I removed one of the dash pads my old '02 Z06 to emulate the factory procudure

time involved? about 3 hours

will this work in NON-HUD windshields? yes

does your car have a HUD capable cluster? if it's 1999 or newer(including FRC's) 100% of the clusters I've seen have the HUD connector

I have a 97/8, do I need new cluster? yes, we can provide a used GM HUD cluster programmed to your current mileage for $295

I'll vouch for Steve's installation capabilities with the HUD's. He did a retrofit on my 99 when he did the turbo kit, and you can't tell it wasn't put in at the factory. Absolutely perfect installation.

only about 5% of the C6's are without HUD, I don't think the market will be large enough

I have do have a source for clusters and HUDs, just don't have the 'how to' yet

So you are saying that 95 percent of the C6s are sold with the 3LT package? I seriously doubt that. I think the potential market for this install is substantially larger than that figure you quoted. Personally, I didn't want to have to pay $5K for all the unwanted fluff that I would have had to pay for to get the HUD. I believe others felt the same way. Yeah, I REALLY need heated seats in Florida....

I really like the HUD on my C5Z, but it's not worth $5K to have it on the C6. For a grand? Yes, I would have paid that.....

Default How about getting RID on my HUD

I race SCCA Solo in ASP....

I have a 04 Z06........how much weight would I save if I swap out my dash with the HUD for one without HUD.....

Would you take a trade.....how much would the labor be.

How much weight would I save ? (that's really important, as we are allowed to update---backdate)

Thanks

I have one non HUD dash in the shop right now, if you would like to eliminate the HUD you will save 2.81 lbs plus the harness/bezel and switch

I will do the swap at no cost

kind of interesting how GM deleted the HUD on the '01 Z06 for wt. savings

manual driver's seat would save about 15-20lbs
