yes this kit will convert any c5 z06 or frc to a targa.. it comes with EVERYTHING needed to do the conversion.. it comes with all the weatherstrips, targa panel, interior roof panel misc hardware and the exterior panel that the rear glass sits in.. if you do a search you will find there website where they sell the kit... it retails for $3,495 and is VERY VERY hard to get... last i checked they wherent selling them unless you where paying them to do the conversion

Not a easy or inexpensive proposition. I know I am in the midst of doing it along with a ACP widebody kit.

Unless you're a really handy guy and can do most of the work yourself or plan on keeping your car for the rest of your life, I would pass.

I plan on keeping mind so I made the investment.

I can't imagine it's all that easy as you need a new top rear tub, you have to get the roof off that is glued down like a ****, you need rear fenders, plus paint, not including all of the interior changes.

Personally, I think the coupes are ugly compared to the hardtops and convertibles, but that's just my opinion.

Good luck with the sale.

no you are wrong!! if your converting a frc to a frc targa you do not need a rear tub or new fenders.... no interior changes either except the interior roof panel and thats included in this kit...everything to do this conversion is in the pictures... i have a body shop near where im at and he has done 20+ frc targa conversions for people all over the USA... NOw IF YOU CONVERTING A FRC TO A COUPE THEN THATS A HARD CONVERSION... and not really worth all the work and time..

I thought you were doing hatch back as well, my mis-understanding. I've seen where Caravaggio converts rear hardtops to hatchbacks too.

Still a tough job to get the roof off without damaging the rear upper tub as you don't have access to get to the rear bonding strip that is made out of urethane (rubber).

Been there and done that. I guess if you don't mind hacking up the factory roof panel, you may be able to get it off. without damaging the rear upper tub.

Lucky for me I live only a couple of miles from Gene (Gmpartshouse.com) so I don't have to pay shipping charges.

Do you have any idea what he charges for installation of the kit with paint?

Also, do you know if the targa top will fit in the trunk of a Z06 when off of the car?

The top could be made to fit in the trunk as all C5's use the same bottom rear tub. The big difference is in the rear tub structure.

Easiest way to make it work woul be to find a coupe's two rear tub latches and foot pieces.

Fasten a thin piece of metal to the floor boards to mount the foot pieces.

Hope that helps.

How does the panel attach to the front windshield frame? I'm having a difficult time visualizing this though I see all the pieces...

Your whole roof section comes off. The new one is set into placed and glued on.

The new section stops just like a coupes would at the upper metal halo.

The targa roof fills in the section between the windshield and the upper rear halo.

Hope that helps.
