what is the difference between this system and the borla stinger #140017 listed on your site for $650?

No, they have tip style 18 (pictured below).

Tip style 29 comes on a different part number, 140039.....Same system but with the tip style 29. Keep in mind, Tip Style 29 is an Oval tip (does not look way in the picture you provided but they are). The Borla 140039 Exhaust system is right here...

I read the description on your website and realize this system is aggressive sound wise but do the mufflers take a little of the sting out or are they more like straight pipes?

Not like straight pipe at all. These are a deep throaty sound. I had the stingers on my SW, Ive also had a set of Corsas, the Corsas were way too high pitched for me, not to say some might like it but I didn't.

Best way to describe these IMHO is a old school hot rod sound, nice deep rumble.

Got Borla single tips on my 2001 M6 LOVE the way they sound in between shifts. Had Corsas on my 98 auto. Alot Raspier not as deep tone.

can anybody say that the 4 tip sounds different than the 2 tip? i have been curious if i could get a little different sound by going to the 4 tip because of the way the pipes are designed after the muffler. seems like it would give more of a true 4 outlet sound compared to how some other systems add the second set of tips.
