I agree, way too much for a piece of plastic. Will just keep my suction cups

It is not plastic (nothing plastic on it anywhere. It is T6 alum) .....if you saw it in person I think you would disagree on the value. Although it is not cheap, it is worth every penny. Have NEVER had a person buy this mount and say it not worth it.

Do a search on the forum for "Blendmount" and see what others are saying.

Heck, search the C6 forum, the C6 version is a 120 bucks. If you think 70 bucks is expensive, try thinking about 120 bucks. Again, people that have tried it love it.

Maybe not for all, but for those of you that like the best, this is it!

I've got the exact set up in my c5 with the invisa-cord and external speaker from escort/passport and I love it! Speaker is great when the top is off, radar detector doesn't move at all. Easy to adjust and once you mount it and adgust it for your vehicle you don't have to readjust it if you remove and reinstall the radar detector cuz all the adjustments remain tight and in place. I thought it was expensive when I bought mine when they first came out (I think it was $119) but I would gladly pay that again for the mount.

I could not agree MORE.

I love my Blend Mount. Best quality I have ever come across and solid as a rock. I also like the fact that you can adjust the mirror if needed and not affect the radar detector mounting position in any way.

Hey guys, I purchased this package from you last week and installed it Wednesday 11/23, the mount did not fit my 02 Z06 mirror, I had to make modifications to the mirror. The mirror on my car does not have the round barrel between the mirror and the windshield mount. I got it installed but you should look into this and maybe post a fix.

I just looked at mine and its the same as yours... no barrel. 02 Z as well.

I have a 2002 coupe, and my mirror likewise doesn't have the long barrel. Looking further, the Blendmount website's C5 window specifically identifies my mirror mount (at the bottom of the page) as one for which BlendMount does not have a mount that fits. What's with that?

So...Caveat Emptor. Don't buy this mounting system until you first are certain it will work on your Vett.

As an aside, I wonder how many C5's have this mounting system? Was it an '02 thing? Or something else?

Yeah, there are a few C5's that have a different rear view mirror. We also have a picture at the bottom of the page that shows the mirror that this mounting system will not work with.

There will most likely not be a sale anytime soon unless Escort authorizes it (which is very rare).

Escort holds there dealers to a strict pricing policy (hence the reason we bundle with other products that we can discount a little so we can offer a lower overall price bundled price) that forces authorized dealers too keep prices at the same price Escort sells them for (same way Apple does and other large manufacturers).

The only way to get Escort products cheaper is to buy them via the auction sites and others where unauthorized dealers get them through unscrupulous methods, stolen via credit card fraud from Authorized dealers (yes, this has happened to me ;( ), refurbs sold as new, 9500i models in 9500ix cases, heck, I have even seen 8500's sold in 9500 cases, etc...You are literally buying at your own risk when you go this route but can certainly get them a lot cheaper. All the Escorts have a unique serial number and ones that are purchased from unauthorized dealers run the risk of being denied any warranty support from Escort.

The only time we can offer a sale is when Escort allows it. In the 5 years we have been an Escort dealer, I have seen this happen twice...And it was not really a sale as far as a price discount, but rather free shipping and then another time a free suction mount.

If you want one, I would just get it (if not from me, any authorized dealer or from Escort themselves) or you will be probably be waiting a long time for the big sale to hit

By the way, we are backorderd on the Race version, but expect more to be available early this month (hopefully this week).

More info here on Unauthorized Escort Dealers. Escort tries to keep the list current but new scammers pop up all the time. If you are buying off an Auction site, you can be guaranteed they are not an Escort dealer as Escort forbids dealers from selling via this method.

Bottom line, if you are getting the Escort Detector from anyone advertising it at a price less than what Escort sells it for, they are not an authorized dealer and if you ever need warranty support you will be literally left in the cold.

I have installed a blend mount on my 99, and I would NEVER use anything else!!!
you talk about quality..... this is not a little pice of plastic, and well worth the investment! it is a fully adjustable high quality t6 aluminum, and i will never use anything else! i wonder if they will work on ,my ford work trucks also?

Have this setup in my 2011 Silverado 1500 and will be getting another for my 99 Vette. Once you install one of the Blendmount brackets you will never go back to the suction cups. Solid as a rock.
