New 160 degree Hypertech 1014 Thermostat.

I was going to use it on my current F/I build but decided to use a 180

I have the Summit Racing receipt which is dated 2/14/2012 (Less than 2 weeks old)

Why did you decide to go with a 180? I was looking for a 160 for my FI install but I'm curious.

I weighed the pro's and con's of the 160 and came to the conclusion that the 180 was a better fit for the type of weather here on the central coast of California. We average 75 in thr summer and 60 in the winter. Colder during the nights obviously. I didnt want my engine running to cold.

Also, when running lower temps, the onboard computer can start throwing codes for the abnormal condition. Something else I didnt want to deal with.

If i lived in Phoenix or Las Vegas. I probably would have kept the 160 but the weather here is just too mild for such a drastic change....
