I'm confused as well! Not sure exactly what it attaches to, or how. If the idea is to deflect heat from touching the bottom of the physical console, does the heat get deflected AROUND the shield?

It simply goes inside the console. Open the console, remove any items such as loose change, cd's, sun glassed etc etc, install console insulator foil side down by pressing into place, it's a snug fit, very simple

The console in my 2001 cannot fit sunglasses ... if this is an insert, I'm confused as to what it would do. Maybe I just do not understand the physical location for installation. What are the measurements of your product? I can't figure out the cut-outs in your pic, and am not sure of their purpose.

I guess I never knew this area got hot, or needed insulation. I keep receipts, registration, garage door remote and a tire pressure gauge in there ... nothing else fits.

Oh it gets plenty warm, but this product will only trap the heat, it won't eliminate it.

I never knew how hot it was in there.....until I left my chewing gum and chap stick in there on a 250 mile run in the summertime!

Fine mess I made!

Interesting idea. I think I'll put my own spin on it when I bolt the MGW in this week. Plenty of spare material kicking around. Cheers!

Why not insulated under the console ? Seems logical.

this is a simple solution that anyone can do, only takes a couple of seconds, a lot of folks would not want to remove the entire console to insulate, much more time involved

I've had this in my Vette for over a year now and it definitely makes a difference in the heat level inside the console. A very easily installed, and functional product!
