Default C5 Owners Manual Flashlight

Hello I just bought a 2003 in perfect condition that has only 1 flaw. The owners manual flashlight is inoperative. Closer inspection revealed corroded batteries. I was able to remove them but the inner workings of the flashlight is ruined. The plastic barrel (both pieces) are pristine.

So I am looking for a replacement flashlight, or at least the inner works. I can't find this on eBay, or even a GOOGLE search. Any suggestions / anybody have an extra for sale?

Thank you, and nice to meet everyone.

Hello, Check eBay and see who has your year complete or partial owners manual kits for sale, Check completed auctions also. Then write to them with your request. Patients is the key, they do pop up off and on. A lot of them have more then what they list. I have had sellers list items I was looking for in the past. Also see how they list flashlight, come list it as a pen light. Hope this helps.

You might want to check out Helm inc they might have a whole new portfolio with everything in it. this is the company that prints the manuals for GM and other car makers.

Did you try cleaning it at all? I've seen so many things thrown out from battery corrosion only to be fixed with a little vinegar and a q-tip.

Thank you LoMi for the very good suggestion. I searched eBay using the search terms:

C5 Corvette owners manual flashlight penlight

Lots of manuals. No lights.

I saved the search and established e-mail alerts so each new listing results in an e-mail sent to me.

I also GOOGLE searched, but nothing useful came up. Eventually one will be for sale (see discussion below)

Bob G, I reviewed the Helm Inc. website and it seems that their specialty is limited to the manuals. But thank you for pointing out this valuable resource.

r0 (or is it rO?), the inner workings of my owners manual flashlight are a corroded, rotted, mess. I was able to remove the cartridge that holds the batteries and bulb. But I could not remove the batteries. It's a solid mass of corrosion. The black plastic barrel (2 pieces) is in perfect condition. Penlights come in all sizes; perhaps one will have similar insides. I will investigate this possibility. Thank you for the setting the stage for me to think up this potentially viable alternative.

Eventually somebody will offer for sale their cracked plastic penlight that happens to have a working inner cartridge.

I have a nice, working flashlight out of my old '98 owner's manual if anyone wants to purchase it.

I am first in line. Mine works, but did sustain damage from batteries and I would like one for parts or to add parts to if necessary. Let me know. PM sent.

PS; Thanks for your trust Pat. Enjoyed speaking with you and thanks for sending the light. Check will follow. It is good to be back on the road after the torrential rains and flooding in SC. Luckily all we got here in Summerville was the rain.
