hmmm... I just purchased a 1pc aluminum DS from DSS for my GTO recently.
does this CF DS eliminate the Tq Tube?

i believe it goes inside the tq tube. but you could run it without a tq tube. but id still run it for protecting the carbon from a rock hitting it and cracking it

There would be no benefit from eliminating the torque tube it is a major component of the drivetrain plus it holds your shifterin place.

I'd love to have this but too many things just broke recently that I have to replace. Maybe first of next year if you still have it. Good luck with sale.

does this offer an appreciable weight savings? im all about saving weight on rotating parts, but havent seen this done to too many (any?) road race cars.

There's definitely weight savings involved. Nothing huge but something like 3-4lbs maybe. But no more worries of ripped rubber couplers and a driveshaft that'll take any power you throw at it.

Wish this fit my 99, I'd much rather spend 1200 on a shaft that will never break than 400 on poly couplers.
