If I get headers, can I still keep Diablo Predator??
Or do I have to go back to the stock tune and get it re-tuned professionally by a shop? I really like the Predator and would like to keep it on the car if possible.. Thanks!

You can keep the predator--But LT headers create a whole new set of issues that cannot be corrected without a full blown tuner like HP or EFILIVE--Mostly because the 02 bung location are moved futher back then the stock manifold locations so you get erroneous 02 readings in closed loop--typically it richens up your closed loop fueling from the stoich of 14.68 to somewhere in the richer 14.1 to 14.4 range-You have to trick the ECM by commanding something leaner in order to get back to 14.68---Often without tuning correctly I'll see very little or no RWHP gains with LT's until it's tuned properly--
The predator does not address the correct tables to fix these issues--so It won't affect your tune if you have it tuned profesianlly and then use the predator for the 2 basic performance tables of spark and timing---

Whew! Ok, thanks for all of that info. I would need to find a decent tuner around here then.. This might be a project for the spring/summer.

If you want to keep the predator make sure to restore the stock tune when you bring the car to the shop. Then after their tune is done you can still modify it and use the predator if you want. The new tune becomes your stock tune.
For me after I went to headers I went with a custom tune and sold the predator. If I would not have cared about the money I would have kept it. I had the older version where you could not log the data. Only real time.

Ok, thanks. This is good to know. At least I can still use the predator later on.
Btw, J84 who did your custom tune for you?

Hey Shirl...
yes, you can keep your diablosport predator, no worries...
you can relog and get your fueling dialed back in, so that your average ltft's are back in the 0 to -2 range...
and as for the headers/codes themselves, I can do a custom tune for ya (via email), to really wake up your car, plus address the header issues as well... such as disabling the rear O2 trouble codes, the CAT trouble codes, adjusting your WOT fueling/timing, etc etc... did you keep the cats on??? if not - we can also disable the COT protection as well...
here's info, as well as a link to a small sample of testimonials I've received from just some of the people I've done my tunes for...

Thanks Lew. I was wondering when you would reply. The headers will probably be a spring/summer project and they willhave cats. I will study the link you sent. Thanks again!

Thanks for all of your help! Sorry I didn't get back to you on the torque management procedure. I haven't tried to make the adjustments yet. And now with this great weather I may not look at it again until it gets warmer. Happy New Year!
