Well my question is if the drop down box shows disabled, then why is it still activating even with traction control turned off?

That's just abuse mode, i.e. it lowers the power a bit between shifts. To turn of TC you need to press the button on the console as well.

To increase the TQ and HP at launch you need to alter the Traction control system data
TQ manght has nothing to do with traction control To allow your car to have more power at launch you need to increase the TCS TQ value---Stock is 350 try sneaking up on it in small increments---My guess would be to enter 400 as a starting point--You can also totally delete the entire tract control system by maxing or minimizing all the parameter in the TCS area of your tune--then it would never work if TC button is pushed or not Also you should be able to raise the brake stall RPM y making these adjustment

Are you sure of this?

Yes the Traction control table scaling the TQ control table by RPM and % Ethanol -- With stock numbers you can't spin the tires at all ever--But raise the entire table from 25-40 % and it should allow you to spin them even if the TC button is ON--If you max out the table you will have NO TC----best is to leave enough in to just break them loose at launch but still leave in a small safety factor

Sorry for all the typo's Corrected----
and YES I am sure----
This is a must on any High stalled TQ Converter car or heavily modded engine
Remember the TQ converter is Multiplying the TQ--Not a big deal when up to higher speeds BUT at launch--In low 1st gear and 0 MPH the converter can easily produce more than 350 ft lbs--------That's why it cuts out and won't let you rev past 1200 !!!
PS: On my 98 with 400 RWHP and a 3000 stall ---I could not brake stall it past 1400 until I altered the TQ Management #'s----After the tune fix when racing I was able to launch it and hold it with the brake at 2500 RPM's -resulting in 11.90- 12.00 times

Sorry for the confusion, when I said "are you sure" I was referring to your comment that you can disable the console button. I have all the TC turned off in my tune but I still have to push the button.

Just to understand ...even with t/c button off you still can't do a burn out??
I have the same issue sometimes ....what I do is just press the button on them off again while I'm trying to do my burnout....works most of the time.....weird cause all my torque managment is all tuned to 0

You are confusing TQ mangemnet with traction control
TQ MGMT is used between shifts to limit TQ
Traction control is used to keep the tires from spinning
T.C. can be disabled and retuned to be eliminated or to be less sensitive---- takes several tables to do--

Thx...so which tables eliminate t/c and why when I turn it off it still seems it's on when I try and do a burnout in the box
Thx

Ok
1. Max TQ by RPM -----MAX out table B6614 EFILIVE TABLE #
2. TCS Spark retard ------ -70% whole tble B6603
3. Max allowed TCS TQ --- max whole table B1901
4. Axle TQ limiting ----- Set to "Disable" B6601
5. Balance of TQ limit tables MAX OUT B6615 thru B6620
6. ETC Pedal TQ Limit Reduction--- Set whole table to 100% B6612
this will disable the TC system and allow your throttle to go to WOT all the time at any speed or RPM
